02/04/2026: Great place! The atmosphere was amazing. I believe Mark is the owner. He and his staff were really wonderful. They were on top of everything. Very friendly people. You felt very at home. Everyone talked to everyone. There were a lot of regulars there. A mix of English and French. The music was great. Chris Kern played that night and the whole place was hopping. Everyone was singing and dancing and having a great time. Beware of the steep steps to the bathroom. They are ancient and original to the building and really cool!
28/02/2026: A huge thank you to Mark and Greg for their kindness and hospitality throughout our week-long holiday. A truly fantastic bar with a great atmosphere. Looking forward to next year!

14/08/2024: Nous venions pour manger léger et nous avons craqué pour le Berthoud... Super bien présenté sur un plateau en bois comprenant 1 ardoise de charcuteries, un bol de pommes de terre vapeur, un caquelon de fromage d'abondance fondu (sur sa pierre chaude" et un bol de salade. Un régal. Serveurs et serveuses très sympa. Réservation plus que conseillée. Possibilité de manger en terrasse comme en intérieur

27/01/2024: Brilliant, can't fault it and we return every trip, never disappointed and staff excellent.
The menu is sufficiently varied for us and service is perfect. We take our friends and guests each year who love it. It is compact but it is our favorite choice on every trip to France. I wish we had similar in the UK.
