The music was amazing, and the place was cozy and welcoming.
The service and hospitality were worthy of a 5-star hotel.
And the rib-eye steak and the French toast... simply incredible!
I highly recommend it! 👌
31/03/2026: Excellent meal in a lovely dining room with impeccable service. The welcome was warm, the service attentive. The calm atmosphere and the music not too loud allowed us to enjoy the meal in peace.

17/04/2026: The presentation was impressive. The starter was rather bland. The stuffed guinea fowl had a pleasant taste, but the side dish was disappointing.
Overall, the restaurant's cuisine doesn't live up to its prices.

06/04/2026: €20 for a "vegetarian plate based on market inspiration" for a mediocre result:
2 carrots, one tomato (out of season), 2 asparagus spears, a little salad, 2 cauliflowers, and thankfully a decent burrata.
Aside from cooking these few vegetables, no particular preparation was attempted.
For your information, vegetarian doesn't mean you can't have a nutritionally complete meal. Where are the proteins? Lentils, chickpeas, seeds, etc.? They exist, and there are even lentils grown nearby in the Berry region.
Meanwhile, I was hungry after the meal...
As for the desserts, they were excellent.
And for the starters, no vegetarian options at all...

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with remarkable kindness by the entire team. The staff is not only welcoming but also extremely professional and attentive to every detail. You can feel their genuine desire to please and make your stay enjoyable, which makes all the difference.
The hotel is very well-maintained, comfortable, and full of charm. But our real highlight, without a doubt, is the lounge bar: an elegant and cozy space, ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring. The atmosphere is refined, the drinks are excellent, and the service is always impeccable.
A huge thank you to the entire team for this flawless experience. We will gladly return and wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

Le Grand Hotel de L'Abbaye

27/09/2024: A beautiful historic building and it's great that it is being well looked after and maintained. We had a very spacious and well appointed toom reached by the large staircase. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome. This was our third stay at the hotel and the Rotisserie was available this time and it was excellent.
25/09/2024: We expected more from the comfort of the room. A little expensive for what we got. Needs a good refresh. On the other hand, the meal was delicious.
