01/04/2024: Great time... Great welcome! The dishes are a real delight... A beautiful address!!! Don't hesitate...BOOK!!!
28/03/2024: The atmosphere is lovely. It is the 2nd time we are visiting this small restaurant in Paris. Last year I have to say, it was better. Tne service is very good but the food was not that good. You choose a menu of starter, mai n course and dessert at a fixed price. This time the starter was not good at all. The main course was acceptable and the dessert was good. Too ecpensive for the price and very touristy.

04/04/2024: What a hidden gem! We have recently moved to Paris and found this wonderful restaurant hidden in our neighborhood. It was actually recommended by a work colleague as a "place he takes important guests." They are known for their soufflés but offer many other savory dishes as well. I would definitely start with a soufflé, they offered 3, the cheese, mushroom and truffle. I had the truffle soufflé and it was absolutely delicious. I next had the 7 hour roasted lamb which deliciously fell apart. Lastly I finished with the grand marnier flambé soufflé. While I would order all those items again, I will definitely go back so that I can try the other dishes. I highly recommend this place!
25/03/2024: I have been there several times, a charming restaurant, simple and of very high quality. Incredible soufflés! I highly recommend.

02/04/2024: Warm welcome, location and service. Very good value for money on the starter, main course and dessert menu at €40. A beautiful wine list. The only downside is the espresso for €5... I recommend it!
26/03/2024: Excellent food, very friendly staff, somewhat empty space, although not too big at all.

05/04/2024: I vomited in this Michelin star restaurant. What I thought was bad were the two main dishes, the sea bass and the roast quail. Overall, the chef had a lot of ideas for seasoning, but his basic skills were insufficient, he failed to make the meat tender. Let's talk about the bar first. I don't understand how you can make a bar this hard. If he had chosen to kill the fish on site and control the steaming time, or cook it at a low temperature, he couldn't have been so tough! When I steam fish at home, it is much more tender than this. Additionally, the chef removed the skin from the sea bass. It is with great sadness that I say this, because if only it had removed the fishy smell, the skin of the sea bass is much better than its flesh. The problem with roasted quail lies in the quail breast. It is very difficult to make poultry breast tender. This chef, not having this skill, should have avoided using the chest. If only he had served the quail legs, the dish would have been quite good. What finally made me vomit was the soft candy served after the meal. But the previously unpleasant main courses also played an important role. This restaurant was not entirely without merit. The dessert of ice cream and jam as well as the matching wines were very good. Especially the matching wine, every glass was delicious. If I had known, I should have just come for a wine tasting... Why did I come for the main courses... I vomited at this Michelin-starred restaurant. What I found unpalatable were the two main courses, the sea bass and the roasted quail. Overall, the chef had a lot of ideas for seasoning, but lacked basic skills, failing to make the meat tender. First, the sea bass. I don't understand how it's possible to make sea bass this tough. Whether he chose to steam freshly killed fish with precise control of the heat, or to cook it at a low temperature, it shouldn't have turned out this tough! The sea bass I steam at home is much more tender. Moreover, the chef removed the skin of the sea bass. It pains me to say that if only he had properly removed the fishy smell, the skin of the sea bass is much tastier than its flesh. The issue with the roasted quail was the quail breast. Poultry breast is very difficult to make tender. This chef, not having the skill, should have avoided using breast meat. Had he only served quail legs, the dish would have been quite good. The direct cause of my vomiting was the soft candies served after the meal. But the previously unpalatable main courses also contributed significantly. This restaurant was not without its merits, however. The sorbet and strawberry dessert as well as the accompanying wines were very good. Especially the paired wine, each glass was delicious. Had I known, I would have just come for a wine tasting... Why did I come for the main courses...
02/04/2024: A very beautiful moment, everything was perfect!! Nothing to complain about either the warm but professional welcome or the gourmet and creative cuisine.

Chez Truffes Folies

Gros-Caillou, Paris
03/05/2024: Lunch for my birthday Never tasted truffles Excellent cuisine. Truffles from start to finish. A treat in a pleasant place with a very friendly boss. To do and redo. Well done I will come back...
03/05/2024: Small restaurant where we had a good time around truffles. The truffle shells were really excellent 😋 as was the fresh fruit salad and lemon-basil ice cream 🤣 We liked the vine velouté a little less which lacked creaminess. Finally, we found it a shame the haste to clear our table.

Rouge Vif

26/03/2024: I ordered ham and cheese, and asked the boss to recommend a white wine. The boss gave fruity a taste first, and then asked for sweety, which tasted very good and went well with ham and cheese! After about six o'clock, the crowd started to get more crowded and the place was full. Fortunately, we had to stand outdoors!

Oui Mon Général

Ecole-Militaire, Paris
03/04/2024: Finally a restaurant in Paris where snails, pepper steaks and beef bourguignonne are not served! A cozy restaurant recommended by a friend made us excited! The restaurant is not very far from the Montparnasse Tower. The tables are generously set according to Parisian standards, the menu is in French and reflects authentic and genuine cuisine. Nowadays the mobile phone can translate everything. We ordered octopus with radicchio on a pistachio-cherry-pea mousse as an appetizer, poached eggs on green asparagus with a delicious pine nut sauce and, as a second course, scallops and aubergines, all very tasty! Excellent wine and there was also Campari as an aperitif! The restaurant is absolutely top and to be recommended! The restaurant is completely vide!
02/04/2024: Upon entering the restaurant, one is greeted by modern and minimalistic decoration, setting the stage for an exploration of an extensive wine selection catering to every taste. While the pigeon dish may have been slightly undercooked, the lack of questioning regarding preferred preparation level was noted. However, the cod fish exceeded expectations with its perfectly cooked, flaky texture, although the promised pistachio crust was not noticeable. The garnishes were elegantly pleasing and thoughtfully executed, enhancing the overall dining experience. In sum, the dining experience offered a high-quality French culinary journey that justified every expenditure.

08/05/2024: Come for the 2nd time to this charming and very high quality establishment. Served by Antoine and Clément, we greatly enjoyed our lunch. We started with leeks and celery remoulade... simple but sublime dishes. Then a shoulder and a grandma-style free-range chicken made our taste buds tickle. What a treat. Really congratulations to the cook. It was divine. And we finished with a tarte tatin which took my companion back to childhood because it was so good. And for me, the very gourmet coffee is a pure delight to finish this delicious lunch. Thank you really. A sublime establishment... Pure Paris brasserie as I like and the service is of exceptional quality... Smiling staff available and with whom to exchange with great great pleasure. We will come back with pleasure and we will taste this octopus which was highly recommended to us. Thank you again for all. Would not change a thing. Antique dealers are 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
07/05/2024: As an Asian, I feel welcome in here. Highly recommended pan seared foie gras. The server is nice and patience even if you can’t speak English he is still willing to spend time to talk to you and take your order.

Restaurant Petrossian, le 144

Invalides, Paris
02/04/2024: The presentation of the caviar trilogy is very pleasant and the caviars delicious. The accompanying Petrossian plate was also very good. As for the service, we waited a little too long and we especially regretted that no appetizer was offered to us with the bottle of Champagne that we had as an aperitif. (lack of class given the price paid elsewhere!) So we had to take some bites to share.
31/03/2024: A perfect lunch and a warm welcome

L'Ami Jean

Gros-Caillou, Paris, 30-45€
05/04/2024: It’s a nice, cozy, antique restaurant. Always crowded. Very loud atmosphere, but in a good way. Small tables, almost communal. Service is good, professional some of the waiters do speak English. The master chef is fun and always yelling and screaming, probably to make an ambience. I was surprised that all the customers were English speaking, it must be featured in a travel book, I know that it was recommended that the New York Times four years ago. Food is great and generous for French restaurant. We were really full. We have several items and they’re all great, including the asparagus with octopus, the amazing cod (bacalao or morue) and braised beef and duck breast. The smells are impressive. The food is full of flavor. They use a lot of herbs mainly oregano. The wine list is limited, but most likely reflective of the origins of the restaurant. We had a dessert and it was great; the basque almond tarte. David, next to us had the rice dessert and it also looked huge and tasty. The restaurant is expensive, all appetizers are around the €20 and all main courses are around 40 and above. We saw some people order the menu degustation and it was very generous.
05/04/2024: Disappointing, very rushed service, bad atmosphere and vibes, generally the kind of place that seems to say “just give us your money, get out, and thank us for taking it”. Kid of a wasted meal - a shame when in Paris. Atmosphere. We got quickly sat down on a table next to the kitchen. Felt very crammed, later other guests came and they had to move tables to make them sit next to us - everyone was kind of trapped. Rustic environment, but felt more cheap than charming. Did not feel welcome. Rushed and impersonal service. Waiters were extremely rushed, served us everything right away and could not wait for us to be done with our starters to shove the main down our throats. When the main course arrived, waiters fumbled around our small table to make place for it, repeatedly touching the top of our glasses and generally to the point of being a bit disgusting. When taking orders, they were also rushed. Also oddly rude: I asked for a starter. The waiter wanted to recommend a different one. That’s in itself fine, but instead of saying “hey, I would actually recommend to…” he said “No! The chef says to get this!”. Kid of felt weird. I also ordered a glass of wine to go with the food and I asked the waiter to choose for me what suited the main course best. I got slammed on the table a glass of red without explanation, and when I asked “ok, what did you choose?” the waiter hurriedly mumbled “Cote du Rhone” while rushing away. Super weird. Average food. Food was ok-ish. The scallops on mushroom soup were actually very nice, and the best we got. That is at least to be recommended. The starter with cod which was “recommended” was disappointing. Plenty of butter, so of course tasted ok-ish, but the cod was overcooked and dry, had the consistency of baccalà. Even if on purpose, it did not fit with the rest of the plate. We ordered a beef shoulder for main, which was served in broth and boiled vegetables. Tasted ok, just as any cheap-ish beef part cooked slowly in a sous-vide tastes like, but was not at all elevated as a 95€ dish demands. Ok meal, could have done and served it at home myself. Overall we stayed inside for 1h 10 minutes, paid ~180€ for it. I do not mind the price itself, but I do mind it for something similar to what you’d expect from a slightly hostile rural roadside diner.

06/04/2024: Beautiful and cozy atmosphere with highly attentive & friendly personnel; the food is delicious at reasonable prices. Commendable place.
25/03/2024: The starter was too bare. The risotto was too creamy and the asparagus too little. Service forgot my second order of a second glass of wine.
