16/07/2026: I celebrate my birthday here every year and I'm never disappointed. The "Carte Blanche" menu is a pure delight every time; the meals are simply excellent.
The location is very unique, situated above a car dealership, which doesn't detract from the superb and welcoming atmosphere at all. The service and welcome are very professional. Flawless, I recommend it 100%!

Flunch Lievin
Lievin
30/08/2026: Difficulty entering the restaurant in a wheelchair through the exterior doors (the second door wouldn't unlock, and it was impossible to enter through the shopping arcade). The fries tray was practically empty, and I was waiting with several other people. When the hot fries finally arrived, the main course was cold. I couldn't find the traditional Flunch pepper sauce. Disappointed.
25/08/2026: I rarely have the opportunity to express myself with such fervor, and yet it seems essential to share with the public the culinary and human experience I had at the Flunch in Liévin.
Let's forget for a moment those establishments adorned with Michelin stars, those temples of gastronomy where you're served three slices of who-knows-what on a lukewarm slate for the modest sum of a month's rent. Let's forget those restaurants where the waiter looks down his nose at you if you dare ask for ketchup.
At the Flunch in Liévin, we are in the presence of an institution, a pantheon of generosity and authenticity.
From the moment you enter, the opulence of the buffet is revealed to you with a magnificence that would put Versailles to shame. The serving dishes are lined up like jewels, the hot plates exuding aromas that tantalize the senses with a delicacy no Michelin-starred chef would dare to match. The variety is so vast it borders on the excessive: appetizers, meats, fish, vegetables, desserts... A veritable compendium of world gastronomy, accessible to all, without ostentation or snobbery.
And the taste, you ask? Exquisite. The meat is cooked to perfection, with that crisp exterior and tender interior that even the greatest chefs strive for. The fries, meanwhile, have an ideal texture: golden, meltingly tender, and perfectly seasoned. And what about the desserts? The soda fountain, the unlimited ice cream dispenser... It's an ode to abundance, a celebration of pleasure without constraint or calculation.
But what truly distinguishes the Flunch in Liévin from any Michelin-starred establishment is its underlying philosophy. Here, there's no fuss, no dress code, no condescending looks. Here, conviviality, simplicity, and respect for the customer reign supreme. You're served diligently, allowed to savor your meal at your own pace, and above all: you leave with a full stomach and a light heart, without having emptied your bank account.
In short, comparing a Michelin-starred restaurant to the Flunch in Liévin would be impertinent. One sells you an experience, the other offers you a feast. One makes you pay for the chef's name, the other nourishes your soul.
In conclusion, if French gastronomy were to have a showcase, I wouldn't hesitate for a second: it would be the Flunch in Liévin. An exceptional place, a place for sharing and indulgence, which richly deserves to be recognized as part of humanity's intangible cultural heritage.
*Rating: 20/10. Unrivaled. Incomparable. Unbeatable.*
