20/01/2026: An absolute top recommendation! Superb hospitality and outstanding, personalized service in all areas. Modern Basque ambiance. Quiet location on the edge of the picturesque village, with numerous impressive hikes accessible both directly from the hotel and within easy driving distance. The Atlantic coast (St.-Jean-de-Luz!) is also reachable in about 30-40 minutes. Large pool. Excellent cuisine (vegetarian menus with fish instead of meat are available; purely vegetarian or vegan options are difficult).

10/08/2026: Exceptional hot chocolate from a Michelin-starred chef, exceptional Basque cake, and flexible staff who accommodated last-minute drink changes.
08/08/2026: An unusual waiter, you either love him or hate him 😂 but he's fantastic, plus he has the best ice cream in the Basque Country, homemade iced teas that are equally amazing, and an incredible cheesecake too.

13/05/2026: A wonderful stay at this family-run hotel, in a setting that is equally charming. The staff were incredibly attentive and the services were of very high quality. The gourmet dinner with wine pairing was excellent. We will be back!

14/08/2026: Simple and very good food. We chose the Basque platter (piperade, Momo, Basque sausage, and fries) and found it really delicious. The owner and servers are very friendly. We ate inside as there was no more room on the terrace, but we appreciated the coolness of the place on this sweltering day.

After our hike on the Hawthorn Trail, we felt like we'd melted so much we must have been invisible when we arrived.
Despite this somewhat frosty welcome, we had a pleasant time at the restaurant.
