25/11/2024: Well, I won't talk about the club because I couldn't even get in there.
What I wanted to talk about was the two bouncers at the entrance who turned me away without giving me the slightest reason and in a rather rude manner, one SUNDAY evening at 11:30 p.m. I just wanted to have a quick beer after working all day, isn't that possible?
Probably they didn't let them in because, not long before, I was talking a little loudly on the phone with another Italian friend of mine? I don't know, but after this scene, I think I'll avoid coming back here. That's great, see you ever again.
10/11/2024: Always a good atmosphere at Loupika, a cocooning, caring place. We can discover new DJs who are starting out, it’s really great that they give everyone the chance to perform. Favorite place in Lyon 🫶🏻

29/11/2025: We received a very warm welcome, especially when we requested a special dish without salt. The chef came over to show us the different options. The restaurant manager was also very accommodating. Thank you so much to the whole team!

29/09/2024: Very nice experience, Niko the server is in top form. He served us with responsiveness and humor. The dishes were very good and plentiful, we had a great time the day after the cooking. Very good truffle pizza!

The setting, however, was pleasant.

07/07/2025: A big thank you to Loïse for her exceptional service at Café de la République. She was smiling, attentive, and very professional. It's rare to come across such a warm and efficient waitress. We will be happy to come back.
02/07/2025: I ordered a virgin strawberry mojito with no added sugar. The waitress explained to me that they didn't add any sugar (even though cane sugar was listed in the ingredients). She explained that the "strawberry cream" used for the cocktail was already very sweet (even though it was supposed to be puree) and that's why they didn't add any sugar.
The result: half a centimeter of refined sugar deposits at the bottom of my glass and a cocktail that was way too sweet...
I must have run into a lazy waitress who didn't want to indicate the "sugar-free" option.

24/11/2025: The staff were about as welcoming as a prison guard.
We came as a family and chose this restaurant because the menu seemed quite extensive.
Upon arrival, the waiter didn't seat us, and we had to move the table ourselves to find a seat.
Four courses: two pasta choices and two burger choices, nothing more, nothing less. No desserts that evening.
We were bothered by a group of young women all evening, despite our attempts to move them away from our table; they wouldn't budge. The owner did nothing.
Truly disappointing.
13/11/2025: "An extremely disappointing experience. The staff's behavior demonstrates a complete lack of professionalism and reveals unacceptable discriminatory attitudes. In an establishment that welcomes the public, respect, equal treatment, and courtesy should be fundamental principles. Unfortunately, this was not the case here.
I do not recommend this place until these practices are seriously addressed."

25/01/2026: The quality is evident in both the brunch and the service.
Impeccable service and a flawless welcome (attentive, kind, smiling, friendly). You can go there with your eyes closed.
13/01/2026: They serve a good hot chocolate. I was there with a friend. The staff were pleasant, but there's one small drawback—hence the 4 stars instead of 5—the last time I went back, they told me there were no more tables available, even though some customers were taking up two tables instead of one. And the café manager didn't want to bother asking them, so she turned me away.

25/09/2024: Salad full of oil, didn't have time to finish until the hot dish arrived... and really mediocre hamburger (not cooked as I asked for more!) no frankly I don't recommend it
1st review is from 2020, we returned to the restaurant and nothing to see, things have changed so I am changing the number of stars 🌟
25/09/2024: Dish order received 1 hour later and colder. I asked to just reheat the meat, as a result they brought me a burnt dish, chicken with potatoes, which I couldn't even eat because they were so burnt.

26/09/2024: We are Colombians, and the waitress asked us if we have weed to smoke. Then, he started to talk about Pablo Escobar. The worst way you can start a conversation.
23/09/2024: We had a wonderbox and we went to this restaurant for the first time. Nothing to say about the welcome, apart from the interminable wait between the 2 courses... but it was simply not good. The scallop cake: but where are the scallops we only have the shell for the rest, frankly I prefer not to know what's inside... fish crumbs, I even found a bone with this lobster bisque sauce, it looks like it came out of a can, and then the risotto with its half lobster..
The lobster is rubbery, it has no taste, the risotto is overcooked with plenty of cheese and all of this drowned in the same sauce as the first course... I don't know who prepares the dishes, but it's not is certainly not a chef... in short, when I got home my husband was sick and I hope not to be... to run away...

22/09/2024: I’ve been living in Lyon for almost 8 years, I’m fluent in French and met one of the rudest waiters in town…
Food was ok, nothing out of this world. The service, that’s another story. From the get go the waiter was not very nice. I’m not pretending the waiter to be super happy but at least a little bit of courtesy. After he brought the bread I gently asked for butter and he rudely said NO. He ended up bringing a big slice of it charging 50 cents. Fine. Then he sat down and had a meal break. A few minutes later a couple entered the restaurant and he told them no service until 19h. It was 18:30h… the couple sat there waiting. We had to ask him to pickup our plates while he was eating…
After reading other reviews I guess we weren’t the only ones with a not so pleasant experience.

J’ai demandé un verre d’eau au moins 5 fois, je n’en ai jamais vu la couleur.
Les serveurs ne sont pas aimables.
29/12/2023: Très déçus par le service expéditif et très froid: pas de serviettes, couverts remis à la main, serveuse très pressée..nous ne recommandons pas du tout!

19/01/2026: The Asian saleswoman, the owner, was unfriendly and unsmiling, as was her husband. The shop's opening hours were erratic, and the prices were exorbitant (over €5 for a small Lyonnaise tart). I'm never going back!
Looking back, I understand better why there are so few customers.
26/10/2025: Unpleasant welcome from the waitress and excessive prices. The pastries are mediocre.
