17/06/2026: If there's no one on this terrace when the others on Place Carnot are packed, there's a reason… Don't even think about sitting down before going to the bar to order! You'll have to deal with the owner, who will force you to get up to order. A real creep, the likes of which you've never seen. With a guy like that in defense for the French national team, you wouldn't concede a single goal.
Besides being unpleasant, and with his Lucky Luke-esque gait, he spends his time not serving customers, but shuffling his chairs and tables a few centimeters by dragging them along the ground. It's impossible to have an uninterrupted conversation. This was followed by a security patrol to tighten every bolt on each chair on his beloved terrace! My thoughts are with the waiter inside, who seemed super cool. I'm planning to start a lychee fundraiser in anticipation of this horrible person's future victims.
17/06/2026: If you enjoy having a drink in a construction site atmosphere, go for it, guys. The owner in the hat provides the sound effects himself by screwing the chairs together while serving... He's also saving energy... The owner in the hat adds a touch of mystery... but unfortunately, not a good mood!

15/06/2026: I'm a regular at this place for their dark chocolate succès, which I love whenever I'm back in Lyon... but that's over!
I bought two on Friday afternoon, so nearly €14 worth! I kept them cold for transport (as I always do): cooler, ice pack, and fridge.
It's Monday, and I was looking forward to biting into my succès... What a disappointment, what a waste! Straight to the bin because of mold!
I've never had this problem in all the time I've been transporting them, even when eating them more than 7 days later.
30/04/2026: Excuse me, but the brioche was terribly bland and dry. Nothing tempting or flavorful about it, despite appearances. Disappointed.
The staff were friendly.

24/08/2024: We had a fantastic meal at L'Epicerie de Ginette. The carpaccio tartine was absolutely delicious. The service was warm and friendly, which meant a lot in our first night in Lyon. The wine selection is vast, and you could easily sit and eat and drink happily at this place for a long time. When we come back to Lyon, I will make sure to come back here.
07/08/2024: Difficile de choisir dans ce dédale de rues avec tous ces restaurants et toutes ces terrasses. Beaucoup sont de bouchons et certaines adresses cotées sur TripAdvisor sont fermées ce mois d août. Petite adresse sympa sans plus dans ruelle . Au menu toutes sortes de tartines agrémentées de légumes, viandes ou poissons au choix avec un petit rosé bien frais et une addition pas trop salée et digeste. Service sans trop d attention pour le client.

19/07/2025: I don't know about the books, but definitely not the flans—they were incredibly sweet and tasteless, and I left with a terrible stomach ache! No thanks.

21/07/2026: My lawyer, Maître Petreto, recommended it to me (it's right next door), but honestly, it's not worth much at all! The tattooed, mustachioed man doesn't say hello, and the food is mediocre at best. I don't recommend it... All that for 35 euros: a main course, a dessert, a carafe of wine, and a coffee. What's really missing is a smile; regulars deserve that!
