08/12/2025: It's not the most chic restaurant or the one with the best cooking in Lyon, but it doesn't disappoint either: a neighborhood restaurant with a good and complete daily special. The space is correct and the service friendly. Very competitive price.
09/09/2025: A good place for lunch. The dishes are generous and tasty. The prices are reasonable. A bit noisy, but the food is good.

13/05/2026: As a regular at both the restaurant and salad bar, here are my comments:
- Restaurant: I highly recommend it. The dishes are tasty and made with good ingredients, with some options that are a bit different from the usual fare. The service is good and the wait is reasonable! It's great to have a restaurant like this in the neighborhood.
- Salad bar: The ingredients seem fresh and the pre-prepared dishes are quite good and varied. However, my disappointment with the salad bar is growing with each visit, as the portions are getting smaller and smaller. On my last visit, I could barely see the bottom of my container, even though I chose a pasta base and selected four ingredients. I found that rather meager (it's usually quite generous). At the price of the salad, you expect to be satisfied, which is increasingly less the case.

28/04/2026: Regarding the takeaway bistro in Villette, Lyon 3: Several of us colleagues regularly frequent this place at lunchtime to create our own salads. The ingredients are always very fresh and truly delicious, which is what has kept us coming back so often.
However, recently we've noticed a real change in the portion sizes: the base ingredients (carrots, lettuce, bulgur, pasta) seem to have increased, but the toppings that make a salad truly special have significantly decreased.
Considering the price, we're starting to find this a bit disappointing and are disappointed with our salads, which is a shame because we really enjoy the place. We hope this can be adjusted to restore the quality and generous portions we used to enjoy.

16/05/2026: We came here for lunch and we loved it! The server was so nice and explained everything in English! He was a super sweet man. We had the escargot to share, the gratin de ravioles à la Lyonnaise and the saucisson Brioché and everything was delicious and tasty.

03/05/2026: Garibaldi Street has been renovated, including the removal of the underpasses. Finally, the urban highway has been removed for the benefit of residents. Only the end of the street remains to be completed.
24/04/2026: The escalator has been out of order for over a year.
I don't know what you're waiting for to fix it!
It's incredibly inconvenient!

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal from start to finish, and it had been a very long time since I'd had such a delicious meal!
The staff were friendly and professional—perfect.
I will definitely be back!

23/11/2025: Terrible service and atmosphere. Especially the youngest employee; she's cold, haughty, glued to her phone. Only helpful to men!
It was much better with the previous owners.
It might be "good," but without service, it's pointless.
An address I'm crossing off my list.

17/04/2026: Excellent spot for a quick lunch outside the station, between trains. Fast service (except for the duck), pleasant terrace, and very decent quality of the daily special.
The only downside: the bread wasn't very fresh.
07/04/2026: I don't know about the food since they didn't even give me time to get to the counter and eat.
This afternoon, before catching my train, I was hesitating between the kebab shop next door and this brasserie. I chose the brasserie… but I couldn't even get in. About twenty meters away, they told me there was no room for my stroller.
Surprised, I turned around, thinking I'd gone down the wrong entrance. But no, my stroller fit perfectly, and there was plenty of room. Thinking I'd misunderstood, I went back to the counter. And then, the man started snorting when he saw me return.
I simply asked why I was being refused entry. Were strollers not allowed in? I didn't really get a clear answer. He said he thought I was trying to get in, even though there was a wide aisle in front of me. I don't find that explanation logical. I even wondered why he was refusing me entry. Being Black, I couldn't help but wonder if that had played a role, even though I obviously have no proof.
In any case, parents, be warned: bringing a stroller seems to be a problem here. The staff was unpleasant because I had a stroller. I've never felt so bad just for wanting to go somewhere to eat.
All this for a €13 meal.

28/07/2024: 2e fois que nous mangeons dans ce restaurant sympathique et nous y reviendrons.
Les menus sont équilibrés, une belle recherche sur les associations.
Le personnel est aimable et attentif.
23/07/2024: si encore la cuisine était extraordinaire on pourrait passer sur le service lamentable mais là il n’y aucune surprise.
Quand je fais remarquer à la serveuse qui nous demande de garder nos couverts entre chaque plat que c’est surprenant elle me répond avec agressivité « nous ne sommes pas un gastronomique ! »
quand je lui dit que son attitude n’est pas appropriée elle part se plaindre en cuisine comme au café du commerce.
Et bien je confirme vous n’avez rien d’un gastronomique ni dans le service qui est tout juste digne d’un resto de franchise ni dans la cuisine qui manque terriblement de saveur et d originalité.
Conserver ses couverts quand on mange une entrée de soupe qui viennent mélanger les saveurs avec le plat d’après ce n’est pas une question de gastronomie c’est juste une question de respect de l’histoire que souhaite raconter le chef ou pas … c’est comme l’eau chaude sur la table qui denote de la volonté ou non de bien accueillir un client.
Le seul avantage de ce restaurant est encore qu’il n’est pas trop cher m’enfin on peut manger beaucoup mieux et avec un service digne de ce nom ailleurs.
Au moins les avis sur le service désagréable et le manque de recherche sur la cuisine que l’on peut lire ici ou la sont justifiés.

30/03/2024: Obligé en dernière minute de passer la nuit à Lyon, j'ai cherché un restaurant près de la gare vers 22h. Tout était fermé sauf le restaurant du Mercure. Et là, pour 29 €, j'ai eu droit à un dîner gastronomique. Un "œuf parfait" remarquablement maîtrisé, du calamar bien mis en valeur, une soupe d'orange aux épices qui terminait très agréablement ce repas ! A recommander.

28/12/2023: Très bon restaurant, accueil agréable. Il est préférable de réserver. Deux plats au choix qui changent tous les jours, en plus de la carte.
