27/09/2024: Informal, homely atmosphere. Food great. We ate a mix of menus. Nobody makes a fuss about it. Even if we had any doubts about the wine, we were able to taste two types. Customized hospitality.

29/07/2024: Warm welcome on the phone, smile in person. I say this because this is not the case for all restaurateurs. The food is excellent, homemade always works with me. Great value for money. A very original and really good homemade aperitif. I really loved this place. We feel that the work is done with love and that’s a pleasure!

Die kurzfristige Tischreservierung per Mail funktionierte innerhalb 1 Stunde. Das Konzept ist witzig - jeder Gang besteht aus einer Trilogie - und ist sehr gut gemacht, die Weinbegleitung ist im besten Wortsinn interessant ( und sehr großzügig eingeschenkt !) , die Atmosphäre hat uns gut gefallen und den engagierten Koch,Kellner,Chef ( alles in 1 Person ) zu erleben hat entscheidend dazu beigetragen das es für uns zu einem gelungenen Abend wurde.
Mit 79€ inkl. Weinbegleitung nicht ganz billig aber für uns uneingeschränkt angemessen.

08/09/2024: Wanted to come here for a long time. Certainly NOT disappointed. Simple tasty dishes. Honest food with creativity. Service with a smile and great attention to our wishes. Menu de marché at midday is great value for money.

Move the blind forward so that we don't get caught in the rain when taking our baby out to calm her down and the suggestion of cleaning the baby bottle in the dishwasher...
Honestly, we recommend this restaurant with our eyes closed, you will be delighted too!

24/09/2024: I recommend the eggs meurette, a little disappointed by the pig's trotters which lacked consistency.
The rump steak lacked a starchy accompaniment.
The desserts are exceptional, the service is top notch.
Wine too.

03/12/2024: It is the best restaurant on rue de Strasbourg in Chalon. Very warm welcome, inexpensive and copious menu, beautiful menu of seasonal products, impeccable service and very good gourmet cuisine, lots of ideas researched by chef Jérôme. Every time I come from Lyon to see my family I stop at JULES to enjoy a good family meal. I recommend this quality restaurant.

01/09/2024: The food was atrocious, brown old lettuce was a major feature of the Caesar salad. The chicken was barely cooked, although not pink. The fish and chips, the fish was a frozen battered tasteless white fish although cooked ok. The chips were soggy and over cooked and tasted like the oil was old and burnt.
On a positive note the waiter was good, although we didn't get any complementary bread with the meal which seems to be the norm?
I hope they improve as the location was great and convenient.
