15/10/2026: Nice place, but a long wait. We got our burgers and were told our fries were coming, but we finished our burgers... without fries. We had to ask several times to get them. They did offer us coffee at the end, though. It was a nice gesture, but I'm still left with a bitter taste. The wait times aren't suitable for a business lunch. I'll avoid it next time.

16/09/2026: Back at Calix to try the new menu, what a joy to rediscover autumnal and indulgent flavors at the start of the season! The mushroom velouté was light and perfectly seasoned to bring out its flavors. For the pumpkin gnocchi, I really appreciated the different textures and the Parmesan cream, which added a touch of creaminess and a smooth, rounded flavor to the palate. To finish, with the chocolate-gianduja fondant, I was pleasantly surprised by the whipped cream infused with bergamot liqueur, which added a touch of freshness to the rich chocolate cake. I received a very warm welcome and excellent advice this evening at Calix; it's always a pleasure to return.

08/10/2026: This is a family-run restaurant, unpretentious, where the food is delicious. It's always a pleasure. The secret: consistency, humility, and a desire to share. The dishes are succulent, and the regulars know it. We had a wonderful time. Monte Alegre is, for me, the best Portuguese restaurant in Bordeaux. Always excellent.

The food is very good and varied; my only slight criticism is about the butcher's cut—I prefer raw shallots to caramelized ones. The bar is very well-stocked; they even have Rye Whisky. 16/09/2026: You probably wouldn't think of having lunch in a tobacconist's... And yet, surely an exception in Le Bouscat, the tobacconist is a chef! Simple and very good, what more could you want at lunchtime? Unusual, L'Espérance on the corner offers taste, flavors, and the chef's modesty.
