08/07/2026: Delightful bistro in Bages. Owned by the Lynch-Bages vineyard family who rescued a dying village in 2003 and renovated it. The bistro offers good food, not cheap but nothing is cheap around here. Plenty of parking. Adjacent to the formidable and undeniably impressive Lynch-Bages wine factory.
06/07/2026: We had a wonderful time at **Café Lavinal in Pauillac**. We were in the area conducting several virtual tours for local châteaux and businesses. On a particularly hot day, our group of four decided to take a break and enjoy this beautiful spot.
The location is truly magnificent, in the heart of an elegant and peaceful setting, typical of the Médoc. The building, the terrace, and the surrounding area create a very pleasant atmosphere, ideal for relaxing after exploring the region. Despite the intense heat, we were able to fully enjoy our time in a comfortable and welcoming environment.
The staff were friendly, professional, and attentive throughout our visit. We received a very warm welcome and efficient service, which is always appreciated when visiting in a group. The drinks were refreshing, and the dishes were beautifully presented, featuring high-quality ingredients. Everything perfectly reflects the establishment's high standards, while maintaining a relaxed and accessible atmosphere.
Café Lavinal is an excellent place for lunch, drinks, or simply a break while visiting Pauillac and the surrounding vineyards. The setting is certainly one of its main assets, but the quality of the welcome and service also greatly contributes to the experience.
All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would gladly return on a future trip to the region. A wonderful discovery in an exceptional location that we wholeheartedly recommend.

The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. The staff is proud to represent the Médoc region in an elegant setting that restores the town's former glory.
The restaurant offers an eclectic menu while maintaining a focus on local specialties.
Finally, châteaux are no longer the only ones offering accommodation and tours that are often overly focused.
The room rates are reasonable and the services are of high quality. A "great find" in Pauillac!

Chateau Cordeillan Bages

26/05/2026: Unfortunately, this hotel is not ready for prime time and not worth the price that it claims. We stayed here for 1 night and were extremely disappointed by this being open and only half finished. This hotel lacks charm and character, it's empty and cold. The power went out 30 min into our stay and the pool is not open despite it being 100°+ F. The concierge tried their best to make up for all of the shortfalls (and were lovely) but this was a poor choice by management to reopen too soon.

29/08/2024: Brasserie sympathique à la cuisine simple et efficace, le personnel est bienveillant mais dieu que le service est beaucoup trop rapide !
11/08/2024: Cet établissement est en fait le restaurant ddu château Cordeillan Bages qui se situait avant dans le château lui-même. Le cadre est évidemment moins prestigieux mais la terrasse par une belle soirée estivale est agréable, l'intérieur un peu austère!
Le menu à 45€ est très bon et avec un rapport qualité-prix satisfaisant. Malgré tout ce bon diner ne nous a pas fait oublier celui dégusté il y a quelques années au restaurant du château! Ce n'est plus la même catégorie!
Seule l'impressionnante carte des vins es, est à la hauteur du château mais il est à noter que de nombreuses bouteilles, de grands vins certes, (et je ne parle pas des crus d'exception bien sûr) sont à des pris trop élevés par rapport aux prix pratiqués ailleurs pour des vins comparables.
Une très bonne soirée néanmoins avec toutefois la nostalgie du restaurant du Château Cordeillan Bages!
