10/05/2026: A wonderful discovery for our first time at this Cambodian restaurant! The waiter was very friendly and professional, and the service was excellent. We ate incredibly well, from the spring rolls (which were so crispy) to the delicious soup. The spicy beef and the caramel pork were both incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned, with generous portions. You can go there without hesitation.

I enjoyed a duck breast with a delicious carrot and sweet potato purée! And to finish my meal, a brioche French toast with caramel and a scoop of ice cream for dessert—simply divine! For my last family meal of our vacation, I couldn't have dreamed of anything better! A place you absolutely must visit!

11/08/2026: We were very disappointed with our experience at La Cuillère en Bois. We had an aperitif, followed by a two-course meal with two glasses of wine. When my main course arrived, I mentioned that I couldn't eat the gratin because I'm allergic to eggs. I completely understand that a change isn't always possible, and I would have gladly accepted more salad on the side. However, a few minutes later, we noticed that fries were being served to several tables around us, including one with three adults. When my partner mentioned this when paying, we were told that the fries were "only for children." What particularly disappointed us wasn't the lack of fries, but the feeling of not being treated the same as the other customers. A simple offer of an alternative or a little extra salad would have been more than enough. We paid our bill without making a fuss, but we wanted to express our disappointment. For us, the welcome and attention given to customers are just as important as what's on the plate. In response to your comment, I think there is indeed a misunderstanding. My rating has absolutely nothing to do with the price of the menu, which was very reasonable, nor with the quality of the food. It was good, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed it. What disappointed me most was the way our meal was served. We didn't have a choice of vegetables, and when I noticed that there was egg in the vegetables I was served, which I'm allergic to, not only was nothing offered as a replacement, but I was simply told that there was nothing else available. Then, we noticed that all the tables around us were having fries. When we asked why, we were told that the fries were only for children, even though there were people of all ages at the other tables, except ours. We didn't make a scene while we were there. We left quietly and simply shared our experience afterward. So no, it's not the €16.90 price tag that justifies my rating, and I'm not questioning the quality of your food at all. It's the combination of these little things and, above all, the feeling of not being treated like the other customers. I just find it a shame that you summarize my review as "making a mountain out of a molehill," when I simply took the time to honestly explain our experience.

30/07/2026: A room with a fireplace and a small terrace. The welcome is very friendly and all the dishes are homemade. For starters, I had the salad with Sainte-Maure cheese, followed by pan-seared hake. For dessert, I recommend the homemade floating island, which is particularly generous with its crème anglaise. In short, a very pleasant experience.

The meat is absolutely exceptional, of truly remarkable quality and cooked to perfection (the charm of the fireplace certainly contributes to this). It's true that the price might give some pause at first, but from the first bite, you understand why: the quality of the ingredients and the generous portions are truly exceptional. Add to that a warm welcome and attentive service that make the experience even more enjoyable. In short, it's a gourmet investment you won't regret for a single second. A must-try restaurant in the city center, you can go without hesitation!
