17/12/2024: We visited Bethune and on a rainy evening in 2022 with our 2 dogs. We were greeted with great kindness. I have never forgotten that moment! The whole team was great! We ate very well! My doggies and I wanted to say hello.

16/02/2026: I'm giving it 4 stars because the quality of the products is really good. However, please, for events like Valentine's Day, provide more staff in the kitchen, because having to wait over 1 hour and 30 minutes to pick up your click and collect order (when the website says 20 minutes) is unacceptable. Especially with children in the car 😖 Fortunately, the whole team was still smiling 👏🏻

08/07/2025: We spontaneously went to sit on the terrace. The waitress then informed us that no tables were available due to a staff shortage. Accepting this explanation, we decided to head to another establishment directly across the street. However, to our great surprise, a few minutes later, we saw that other customers were seated on the terrace, without any difficulty. It's hard not to make the connection with the manager's visibly closed attitude upon our arrival. We are a group of people with different backgrounds, and unfortunately, this kind of situation raises questions. It is extremely shocking and unacceptable to experience differential treatment that seems based not on actual availability, but on discriminatory considerations. If this were to be confirmed, it would be openly racist behavior, unjustifiable in a public place, let alone in a restaurant that is supposed to welcome everyone with respect. We hope this report will be taken seriously, because it is unacceptable that in 2025, some people can still be treated differently based on their appearance. This is the second time in the same week that this has happened to us in this city. Shameful.

04/02/2026: I stayed here on my journey south, and liked the place - staff, bedroom, and food -- so I booked for my return journey on 30/12. Everything went well, until I ordered my evening meal. I've never tried choucroute so I asked what the ingredients were. I always enjoy eating everything in it, so I ordered it. When it arrived, there was my a strong smell but it didn't put me off. I tried a small piece of everything - the cabbage, sausage, cooked meat - but they each tasted awful. there was a strong chemical taste in everything; it was inedible. The waitress seemed to be a trainee, and just took the full plate away without question. Another (more senior) waitress came to ask me if I wanted a dessert, so I told her I hadn't been able to eat my meal, and why. I asked whether the chef had checked my meal? The senior waitress took offence and started ranting and screaming at me, that I was trying to avoid paying for the meal, which I hadn't eaten. No attempt to check whether something had gone wrong with my meal, no concern that a returning customer was having to go to bed hungry. I had been polite and friendly, and given the staff generous tips, throughout both my stays. I couldn't believe their response. There was no sign of the owner to ask him about it, after I left the restaurant, nor when I checked out the next morning. Avoid!

01/02/2026: We went to the old Belfries today… Polish Day! Fantastic atmosphere! Excellent meal served hot with a smile from the staff… I loved it and we'll gladly go back! There were four of us and everyone agrees with me… a big thank you for this wonderful day…
