07/06/2024: Back in December, I made the grave mistake of dining at La Joyeuse Fondue, a name that couldn’t be more misleading. Here I am, months later, still reeling from the horrendous experience. This place left such a bad taste in my mouth that I feel compelled to warn others about the culinary catastrophe that awaits them. From the moment I stepped inside, I was assaulted by a nauseating stench. Imagine the scent of old gym socks mixed with sour milk and despair. It was so overpowering that it nearly drove me back out the door, but my hope for a warm, comforting fondue experience convinced me to stay. Big mistake. The fondue, if you can even call it that, was a disgrace. It was watery, a bizarre neon yellow, and tasted like a blend of melted plastic and disappointment. The consistency was atrocious – instead of clinging to the bread, it ran off like water, leaving me with soggy, flavorless bites. It looked like someone had mixed school glue with yellow food coloring and decided to serve it as fondue. The taste was just as bad as the appearance. Bland, rubbery, and utterly devoid of any cheesy goodness, it was like eating a bad science experiment. Each bite was worse than the last, and it took every ounce of willpower to continue eating, hoping it might get better. Spoiler: it didn’t. The service was equally atrocious. 09/08/2024: We have been coming to Chamois d’Or for several years. the location is perfect, the reception is very efficient and always accommodating even during the rush of departures or arrivals. We can only recommend! The best value for money in Val Tho in my opinion

02/09/2024: My friend and I were man handed in this bar by the security. I was held by my neck until my vision went dark by the security and when I regained my vision I found my friend thrown out freezing outside just because he was intoxicated and having hard time keeping balance. I highly recommend you avoid this place as the people here are actually horrible and if I hadn’t taken him back to the hotel there is a good chance he would have gotta frostbite or worse in the cold. We were not asked to leave just straight up grabbed by necks. Neither me nor my friend fought back, I held his hand to not get separated but that only aggravated the security that were incredibly hostile towards us.

23/08/2024: We came here twice as a group on our trip, excellent experience both times. Service and food were brilliant - varied choices between us all, with no complaints from any of us.

15/08/2024: Très joli petit restaurant avec une belle et grande terrasse., jolie vue. Très belles assiettes , nous nous sommes régalés ce midi. Excellent rapport qualité prix ( entre 16 et 18€, c’est moins cher que quasi tous les autres restos de la station). Personnel très sympathique et souriant, à aussi pensé à nous apporter une gamelle d’eau fraîche pour notre 🐶, au top.

18/04/2024: Decoration redone for the Bar part since 2021 (less cocoon and fun). Clientele too international and poorly educated. Rooms identical to 2021 but very good in practical comfort and space. Restaurant service lacking flexibility. Ski Set inside and very professional staff, very flexible and adaptable to the situations of each skier unlike restaurants. Comfortable room but bathroom smelling musty because the hotel chose pretty floor tiles that retain humidity. Ideal location. Impeccable reception service and concierge. The hotel has its own parking lot. Not cheap (Val Thorens!) but very practical.

15/04/2024: This is an amazing hotel. Excellent location. Rooms are good but not cleaned properly. You have to ask for things like water, tea bags, dusty. We were a big group of vegans and vegetarians. At first reading the reviews we were disappointed to book the hotel as they were not good for restaurants. We spoke to the managers for both the restuarant and they went out of their way to make us delicious vegan food. We had small kids and they took care of their dietary requirements. Staff are excellent with amazing service. We are planning to go back next year.

05/05/2024: Had a fantastic meal during Dutchweek. We have been eating here several times for 3 years in a row. The food is great and the service super friendly. Of course the Savoyard dishes are delicious, but the pizzas on the last evening of the Dutchweek were also great. Dinner ended with a homemade tiramisu and a genepi. The tuna is recommended 😊.

04/05/2024: The terrace is in a nice spot on the slopes. They have a small takeaway hut for paninis and the like. The prices at this hut are good, but you do get mediocre food. A chicken panini is a panini with chicken nuggets. But for a quick stopover it's fine. The restaurant, on the other hand, was really bad. Several things were already gone and the price for a bit of normal food is very high. 19 euros for an easy pasta is not necessary and does not make sense. 24 euros for a simple chicken burger is also ridiculously expensive. In addition, the staff forgets to take your order again. This meant we had to wait three times. They are also not aware in advance of what is no longer there. This makes it take even longer.

23/08/2024: This small restaurant is located in the busy area of ​​the resort. It offers fairly simple dishes such as pancakes, sandwiches, etc. as well as hot or cold drinks as well as ice creams. In summer there is a terrace with a lovely view of the mountain. The bosses are considerate and friendly. The service is very efficient.
