16/01/2026: Honestly, I hate leaving negative reviews, but this is absolutely necessary. The saleswoman was incredibly unpleasant, and I paid €60 for two galettes (buckwheat crepes) only to end up with crepes that were worse than the ones from Auchan and had a nasty rum taste. I don't even know if there was actually rum in them. In any case, nobody ate them... Avoid going there.

06/01/2026: I recommend it. The staff is friendly, the pastries are good, and the cakes are decent. The coffee is good; it's a reliable choice. One small drawback: there aren't any tables for sitting outside, and at certain times, there isn't much choice left in the pastries and viennoiseries because they're sold out.

14/02/2026: I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was extremely disappointing. We were served the pizza shown in the attached photo. The base was excessively dry and brittle, it was breaking apart just from being touched. The crust was burnt in several areas and the texture was more like a cracker than fresh pizza. My child (who loves pizza!) wouldn’t eat it because it was so hard and dry, and furthermore disgusting! When I politely raised the issue and asked if it could be remade, the owner refused and insisted this is “what they have been serving for years.” Then he confirmed that their pizza is pre-made dough (so clearly bought frozen from a supermarket). When I declined to pay for food that was clearly inedible, he threatened to call the police. When I responded that we could call them to resolve the dispute, he removed everything from the table and called me “déséquilibrée.”(unstable) This was not only poor food quality, but deeply unprofessional behaviour. Customers should expect edible food and respectful treatment. Unfortunately, we received neither. My little girl left and I left hungry.

09/02/2026: Passing through Nice, we stopped at this restaurant because someone told us it was very good, yet once there we discovered that it was mainly a restaurant for regulars, the dishes were good but seasoned with vinegar which ruined almost all of our dishes, the dishes were also bland.

28/10/2025: Best pizza I’ve had in Nice! The owner is so kind and accommodating. I order here all the time and the quality and service are always consistent!

07/09/2025: Terrible pizza, prefer to eat frozen pizza, order on Uber Eats, cardboard dough, cheese that looks like plastic, tasteless olives, in short, avoid at all costs.

15/02/2026: Super good kebab, one of the best in Nice, but the downside is the cleanliness of the dining area... the floor is oily, you can tell it hasn't been cleaned properly. If they change that, it'll be the best in Nice.

16/02/2026: We came for a hydrofoil competition and to explore Nice. The hotel is ideally located. It's close to everything on foot: the exhibition center for hydrofoiling, the Promenade du Paillon (Coulée Verte), public transport, and Old Nice. The staff was very pleasant, and the room was clean. We will definitely stay at this hotel again!

01/02/2026: A truly unique restaurant... the entire interior is exquisitely decorated... you're transported back in time... a real feast for the eyes... and the food is plentiful and delicious... I highly recommend the croque monsieur, among other things; the pizzas are generous and well-topped... the welcome and service are excellent... I highly recommend this place

03/01/2026: I was very disappointed by this restaurant, which I know very well. I ordered lasagna, but there was no lasagna. I changed to mussels, but there were no mussels either! Finally, I ended up with a mediocre pizza, and my companion had pasta carbonara, which was carbonara in name only. I won't even mention the service. As a customer for three decades, I'll be going elsewhere.

20/01/2026: A great low-cost family restaurant with traditional French menu and friendly staff near the Gare du Sud. The food is simple but nicely prepared.

20/11/2025: Lou Pastrouil is a decent establishment, without any real strengths or major flaws. The location is pleasant and the atmosphere relaxed, even if the place lacks a bit of personality. The service, while friendly, could be improved and is sometimes unprofessional. The prices are reasonable, especially during happy hour. However, the €6 fries are disappointing, with a lingering taste of stale oil. I'd happily stop by for a coffee or an aperitif, but not for a meal. An acceptable neighborhood spot, but one that could be improved.

08/01/2026: How can they make bread that's as hard as a rock by the time you buy it in the morning? It's inedible! The bread is so much better just next door at the Super U! It's crazy!!

22/12/2025: The worst bakery in Nice: the bread is awful, all the classic baguettes, the Joseph, and the others are inedible. There's an incredible turnover of bakers who come and go, but are they even real bakers? The saleswomen do what they can with a smile, but it's not enough. Avoid at all costs.

22/12/2025: We recently visited this café for hot chocolate and tiramisu. The wait was incredibly long before our order was even taken: 30 minutes, with the waiter clearly more interested in chatting with his colleague. Once we finally ordered, the service was thankfully quick. However, another problem arose when it came time to pay the bill. After asking for it, we waited another 20 minutes, the waiter busy discussing horse racing bets at the counter. Faced with this excessive wait, we ended up paying directly at the counter. The waiter seemed completely indifferent: I entered my PIN, the payment was processed, and he continued his conversation with his colleague, still holding the card reader and the receipt, which I was still waiting for… In short, don't go there: the staff has absolutely no quality of service and not a shred of politeness.
