08/01/2026: How can they make bread that's as hard as a rock by the time you buy it in the morning? It's inedible! The bread is so much better just next door at the Super U! It's crazy!!

22/12/2025: The worst bakery in Nice: the bread is awful, all the classic baguettes, the Joseph, and the others are inedible. There's an incredible turnover of bakers who come and go, but are they even real bakers? The saleswomen do what they can with a smile, but it's not enough. Avoid at all costs.

18/12/2024: If I could have given 0 stars, I would have done so without hesitation. I came today to buy croissants and a strawberry or raspberry tart. The saleswoman informed me that there were no more tarts (the store was practically empty) and offered me a raspberry donut instead. So I took it, but what a bad surprise when I got home! The donut seemed to be from yesterday, or even the day before yesterday. The jam inside was yellow: either it wasn't raspberry or it was completely spoiled. Aren't you ashamed? And this in a French bakery?

14/12/2024: Too expensive, low quality, crowds in front of the bakery and it smells a lot of tobacco inside because of the people smoking in front. To flee!

24/10/2025: So. We had a salade nicoise, which was actually quite good. Sure, the price includes the great view. However, the baguette was rock hard. After complaining, one piece was fine, but the rest was rock hard. Also, there was no running water in the restroom for washing hands. Yuck.

22/10/2025: It is not necessary to buy a parasol or sunbed. You can order drinks or food and sit at the table. Drinks and food are separated from the table. I only drank coffee, so I don't know the taste.

16/03/2026: Terrible pizza! The dough didn't rise at all. Instead of pizza, I got something more like a tortilla. Never again!

16/03/2026: I rarely leave negative reviews. Long story short, pizza was not edible, my child could eat it. I asked why the dough was this dry they said it is ment to belike this. I have ordered pasta, they charged me for pizza too. Pasta was excessively expensive and it is not clear in the menu. Pasta is 9 euros and the sauce is extra 9 euros. They didn’t apologize for the pizza or propose a discount.

22/12/2025: We recently visited this café for hot chocolate and tiramisu. The wait was incredibly long before our order was even taken: 30 minutes, with the waiter clearly more interested in chatting with his colleague. Once we finally ordered, the service was thankfully quick. However, another problem arose when it came time to pay the bill. After asking for it, we waited another 20 minutes, the waiter busy discussing horse racing bets at the counter. Faced with this excessive wait, we ended up paying directly at the counter. The waiter seemed completely indifferent: I entered my PIN, the payment was processed, and he continued his conversation with his colleague, still holding the card reader and the receipt, which I was still waiting for… In short, don't go there: the staff has absolutely no quality of service and not a shred of politeness. 09/03/2026: I was disappointed by my visit to the Victor Hugo restaurant in Nice. I asked for a bottle of water because I wasn't feeling well, and the staff's reaction was extremely rude and inappropriate in front of other customers. Such behavior towards customers is unacceptable and completely ruins the experience. I do not recommend this restaurant.

31/01/2026: I agree with the other comments. This establishment is clearly more interested in money than customer satisfaction. The food is very basic and predictable. The only positive point is its location, right in the city center. The professionalism of the staff is questionable, especially on the terrace, where respect for customers leaves much to be desired.

08/12/2025: I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. The staff and cleanliness are OK, but this hotel has major flaws! All the rooms are on a single floor. Parking is very difficult. We were placed above McDonald's, so the smell of grease lingered in the room all night. There's a step in the shower itself, so there's a risk of falling. No restaurant, no lounge—this hotel is more like a train station for business travelers than a place to enjoy the Promenade des Anglais.

03/12/2025: I chose the Mercure Nice Promenade des Anglais for a business trip, hoping to get some rest and sleep in the mornings before starting my day. Unfortunately, the stay was very disappointing. Upon arrival, I couldn't get a room key card due to a malfunction. As a result, the receptionist (who was completely blameless and very professional) had to accompany me every time I entered or left the room. This completely undermined my independence, which was very uncomfortable. I was also hoping to catch up on sleep in the mornings… but I was woken up at 8 a.m. by deafening construction noise. No one had warned me about it, either when I booked or upon arrival. The soundproofing is truly terrible, adding to the discomfort. Finally, the value for money is far below what one would expect from a hotel in this category, given the quality of the room and the overall experience. In summary: between the lack of autonomy, the unreported noise and the quality of services, this hotel is simply to be avoided.
