08/07/2026: We both had salad starters, which were huge and easily big enough for a main meal, and were the best we've ever had, anywhere. We would go back there again this evening but they are unfortunately closed.

We attempted to come to this restaurant. They weren’t open yet. They said return 19:00. We waste two hours in this rinky dinky town and when we return were sent away stating that they were fully booked for the evening. This hole in the wall was more than half empty! You can’t serve two people pizza when your restaurant was more than HALF empty? I have never believed that French ppl are rude but this behavior is just despicable et tres déclassé. Do better!
27/06/2026: Tasty toppings but the crust wasn't quite thick enough for our liking. Still, good pizzas.

06/04/2026: A warm welcome. The waiter was excellent. I had a Caesar salad. Generous portion and delicious. I also ordered a "café gourmand" (a selection of small desserts with coffee) which included a rum baba, but since I didn't like it, the waiter kindly offered me something else. A very pleasant little stop with a lovely terrace.
I recommend this place for a meal.

17/06/2026: I have been lots of times but I went for dinner last week in a party of 7. We had a big table in a quieter part of the restaurant. The staff were lovely and even the chef came out to talk to us. Our meals were excellent and it all came out at the same time. No problems whatsoever. They kept the drinks flowing and we're very attentive.
Highly recommended for everything, the quality of the food, the portions, the service, the atmosphere. Thank you very much for an excellent evening. Outstanding and great value for money.

We received a warm welcome. The restaurant's interior was magnificent, like stepping back into the Middle Ages.
The meal was delicious and excellent.
The value for money was unbeatable.
I think you have to go to see for yourself.
I highly recommend it.

06/07/2026: we ordered satay chicken. But it was not what we expected. There was not even a hint of peanut in the sauce. It was relatively expensive, and, pretty tasteless.

05/07/2026: We passed through the town of Quillan on our way back from vacation, and what a way to end a holiday on a sour note! No welcome, no ice in our glasses, and then we asked for a carafe of water—no response.
We felt like we were bothering them when all we wanted was to cool off in 40-degree heat.

09/05/2026: Very good. Very friendly. Charming landlady. Nice spot by the river with large terrace and water feature in the afternoon sun. They do decent food at lunchtime and excellent ice creams including alcoholic ones. Highly recommended.

07/08/2024: What a nice surprise ! During our wanderings in the village of Quillan, we discovered the river café. We had a delicious dinner there under the plane trees and the meal was as delicious as the price was reasonable. A good place with a really nice chef!
06/08/2024: Once again, Maek outdid himself and served us an absolutely divine tuna and salmon plancha! Half-cooked to perfection, the fish were truly killer! 😂 All this accompanied by a sublime trio of raw vegetables and salad, a treat! We thought we'd have a light meal for lunch, but we missed it again!
This restaurant is a little gem and the welcome is always warm and relaxed! Go there quickly!

03/06/2024: Très bon repas, mais service déplorable. Apéro à peine servi que l entrée arrivait. Même pas une cacahouète. La bouteille de vin ouverte n importante comment. J ai redemandé de la sauce pour mon entrée on m'a répondu qu elle était dedans.
Beaucoup de fautes de service, nous devions nous passer les assiettes.

17/05/2024: Ce restaurant est excellent. Le fait de proposer peu de plats est la preuve que tout est préparé maison et au dernier moment.
Nous avons apprécié aussi, bien les plats de cuisine typiquement française que les plats vietnamiens.
Ayant également séjourné à l'hôtel La Chaumière pour plusieurs nuits, nous avons apprécié le confort de ce 3 étoiles rénové, le silence des chambres, la courtoisie du propriétaire et du personnel.
Le buffet du petit déjeuner est superbe et de très bonne qualité.
Une excellente adresse à Quillan à recommander sans hésiter.
