05/01/2026: €7.50 for the smallest beer. Ridiculous! The one star is for the fact that they were showing football on TV. On top of that, you have to go to the bar to order and there's no table service. You'd expect that for an €8 beer. Go to a kiosk in Nice, buy a drink there, and sit on the promenade – you'll get much more out of it!

12/01/2026: A mixed but interesting experience at La Vela, located directly on the Promenade des Anglais facing the sea. The setting is undeniably pleasant and photogenic, ideal for lunch or dinner by the sea with a relaxed atmosphere and live music in the evening. Service can be disorganized at times depending on the time of day or how busy it is, and the price is a bit too high. In short, La Vela offers a good setting and a lovely seaside experience, with dishes that can be very good or disappointing depending on the service and the time of day. It's a good choice for enjoying the scenery and a meal on the terrace, keeping in mind that service and culinary consistency can vary, especially during the summer months.

26/02/2026: Hello, and welcome to the Duplex! Welcome to the cafeteria, especially... Melinda and I enter through the terrace and are greeted politely by a young woman who asks us, "Terrace or inside?" We opt for inside, as the terrace is closed and... filled with cigarette smoke! We are seated in the dining room, which is very noisy (it's a cafeteria, no joke!) and under the blasting air conditioning! I ask to be moved to another table, lest I look like Joan of Arc by the end of the meal, and the waiter turns down the air conditioning. Thank you... The peanuts, which have already been served to other people, are already on the table... We order a Caesar salad and a salmon poke bowl. The salmon is still floating peacefully by now, but the poke bowl arrives without it and with avocado... let's just say... a little black. (Without any allusion to skin color, as the owner's response seems to imply: an oxidized avocado turns black, I don't see how else to explain it...) As for the Caesar salad... breaded, industrial chicken nuggets, croutons (lots of them), a halved egg, a little salad, and two or three cherry tomatoes... A bit of Parmesan, okay. One crème brûlée and a gourmet coffee, one free coffee for the forgotten salmon and the black avocado (the fruit, I should clarify), total: €74.40! Only the service is good; the rest, frankly, is not great!

09/03/2026: I was served by a server who was clearly unmotivated. No hello, no thank you, and certainly no goodbye. Excuse me for being so blunt, but given his age, perhaps he should know when to stop when he can no longer tolerate the customer. This is the first time I've ever spoken out, but I simply had to share this.

28/10/2025: An absolute gem by the sea! I had an excellent octopus salad — everything was simply perfect. The view is breathtaking, the service fast and friendly, and the dishes incredibly fresh. For such a small beachside “cabane” restaurant, the quality is truly exceptional. A wonderful place to enjoy authentic Mediterranean flavours! 🐙🌊🇫🇷

26/02/2026: Tasteless. €31 for Tomme de Savoie cheese (not even raclette), with vacuum-packed charcuterie that has no flavor. A disgrace.

07/03/2026: Excellent place. We went twice. The owner was very friendly to us and our two children. The food was very good. The pizzas have a thin crust and the meat comes from a local butcher, so the hot stone grill was delicious. We'll definitely be back. Thank you!

29/03/2026: We visited this restaurant several times during our stays in Menton and always returned with pleasure. Unfortunately, for about two years now, our experience has significantly deteriorated. The problem isn't with the food – which remains very good – but with the service of one of the waitresses. Her behavior is particularly unpleasant, sometimes even downright rude to customers, which ultimately led us to choose a different restaurant. We also had the impression that this attitude seemed to affect foreign customers in particular. Interestingly, on one of our visits, we were served by another person – very friendly and professional – and everything was perfect. Unfortunately, subsequent visits have once again confirmed the problem with the service. As long as this person continues to serve customers at this restaurant, we don't plan to return.
