25/01/2026: A truly wonderful and excellent experience from beginning to end! The welcome was incredibly warm, the service so attentive—I've never seen anything like it, what a pleasure! The dishes were delicious, prepared with fresh ingredients and beautifully presented. Special mention to the chef who wonderfully accommodated our request for vegetarian dishes. You can feel a real passion in the kitchen! I highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely return.

14/02/2026: We had a magical time! The pizzas were simply delicious: perfectly topped with high-quality ingredients. The risotto… a real winner! Creamy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. And the carpaccio was incredibly fresh, melting in your mouth, and subtly aromatic.
Everything was refined, generous, and prepared with care.
The service was warm, attentive, and professional, which made this evening even more special. Excellent cuisine, flawless from start to finish.
We will definitely be back! Thank you for this wonderful experience 💕✨

Not up to its reputation.
13/12/2025: Excellent experience. Very warm welcome, highly skilled chef who delivered a cooking class with tasting, combined with a cocktail-making session led by the bartender using local products, and top-notch service. A wonderful time, highly recommended.

19/12/2025: We were greeted by a woman who rattled off a formula we barely understood. When we asked for an explanation, she got angry, which was a shame because the waiter was very young, friendly, and clear. As for the price, we were full, but nothing was fresh or tasty. We definitely got less than our money's worth. During the meal, which was more than mediocre, we could hear this woman shouting and berating someone in the kitchen, saying she would handle it herself. She was yelling loudly! When it came time to pay, this woman flew into a rage and shouted repeatedly, "She didn't understand anything!" In short, she continued to escalate her anger even though the gentleman next to us, who wanted to pay his bill, asked her to stop yelling. "He's defending him," she declared. Then she decided to continue yelling and demanded that the manager come and collect our payment. The customer was outraged by this behavior and said that customers shouldn't have to put up with these mood swings... in short, no need to say more, we'll never go back, that's for sure. When you run a business, especially a food establishment, you have a duty to be smiling and friendly... exactly the opposite here... she's going to get the place shut down with behavior like that!!! I think it's the first time I haven't left a tip, which is a shame for the very kind waiter and the very calm owner compared to this creature who came out of nowhere... of course, I don't recommend this place, run away as fast as you can and be careful not to get stabbed in the back
23/10/2025: I've already eaten at this restaurant twice. Excellent welcome, warm and smiling owner, excellent food, the veal tagine: a delight. I don't understand some of the hateful comments. Some customers should also question their standards and attitude.

24/06/2024: Dans ce petit bourg charentais en bord de fleuve se trouve cet établissement étoilé qu'il ne faut pas manquer.
Le chef y propose une cuisine fraîche, inventive et savoureuse, aux assaisonnement justes et cela depuis de nombreuses années.
Nous nous étions promis d'y aller depuis pas mal de temps et voila c'est fait et nous avons été comblés et il est probable que nous y revenions.
Le service est amical et soigné, le temps entre chaque plat est parfait, je ne trouve aucune critique à formuler.
13/04/2024: Le côté bistronomique du restaurant la Ribaudière. Même accueil professionnel et sympathique et jolie salle intime au décor soigné.
Une carte courte et un menu entrée-plat-dessert à 38 euros.
En apéritif et pour accompagner aussi mon repas, j'ai testé le merlot sous étiquette de la Ribaudière. C'est un vin charentais bien travaillé, j'ai eu raison de faire confiance à la maison!
Tout de suite on m'apporte des rillettes de canard avec ses fines tranches de pain grillé et LE pain de la maison au levain ( trop bon !). Les rillettes n'étaient pas grasses et il y avait de la mâche.
En entrée millefeuille de foie gras de canard, magret séché... Très plaisant en bouche, beaucoup de saveurs.
En plat, bouchons de lapins sur polenta crémeuse aux cèpes et jus intense... Miam! Satisfaction dans les goûts, la cuisson, surprise de trouver au centre des bouchons les rognons, de vrais morceaux de cèpes et le jus... à saucer! Plus le merlot!
Et en dessert petite jonchée (merci de soutenir les produits ultra-locaux!) aux fruits rouges, glace aux pralines roses, amandes, meringue et feuilles d'Atsina (goût anisé et réglissé, j'adore!) TOP!
Merci aux équipes en salle et en cuisine pour ce très bon moment. Je reviendrai!

20/07/2024: Visited this restaurant for lunch and was surprised at how busy it was
A set menu plus a la carte menu available
We were met by a lady whose English was excellent and were shown to our table
Both menus were explained to us and the choice was fantastic
I had prawns and chorizo to start, others had goats cheese and tuna salad
Main course I had steak on a skewer, others had the fish dish and chicken with pasta
For desert we had chocolate mouse and others had creme brulee
Service was very good and house wine was lovely

10/08/2024: We've eaten here a number of times whilst staying in the local area. It's a lovely setting by the side of the lake, most people do choose to dine outside and the seating is on picnic tables. It's a lovely atmosphere as it gets dark and the outside lights come on.
The menu is fairly small/ simple. There's a huge BBQ outside so there's a selection of BBQ meats for the mains....steaks, duck breast, sausages etc.....cooked to order with chips (other sides are available). I generally go for a local steak which always hits the spot (sauces such as pepper/ rouquefort are extra)! Pretty good value too!
08/08/2024: Déjeuner 10 personnes sans réservation : déjà bien contents d'avoir été acceptés dans ces conditions.
Un établissement convivial comme sait le procurer le milieu rural ( sans être péjoratif ) : un réel plaisir à prendre place pour un déjeuner sans conformisme.
10 personnes => 10 plats différents à la carte, bien entendu !! Cela n'a absolument pas déstabilisé l'équipe du restaurant...mention particulière pour les grillades au barbecue avec une viande goûteuse dont la cuisson a été respectée en fonction des goûts de chacun.
Notre panier moyen s'est élevé aux alentours de 22€ par personne, mais ceci inclut apéritif (++) entrée, plat principal, dessert et boissons.
En conclusion, halte tout à fait recommandable pour les amateurs d'un bon repas partagé dans un cadre bucolique.
