L'Echo Café

The delicate decor adds a touch of tranquility.
The exotic cuisine is prepared with fresh ingredients, combining flavors that are as original as they are delicious.
A big thank you to Stéphanie and Nathalie for their warm welcome. We look forward to returning.

31/01/2026: A fantastic discovery thanks to my colleague who suggested we have lunch there. A varied and delicious Buddha bowl, a warm welcome – you feel right at home!
The desserts were also excellent, made with local and seasonal ingredients. Nothing to add except: Go for it!

Not a single fry, not a drop of sauce on the meat!!! Unbelievable!!! Absolutely bland, I'm so disgusted!!

18/11/2025: We took the full menu, very good, the dish of the day was succulent (pork marengo), everything is homemade and you can see that it is cooked with love...we would have liked the baby potatoes in the starter salads to be hot rather than cold and thin slices of tomme cheese instead of being cut into small cubes.
28/10/2025: Passing through during our trip, we exited the motorway and, based on reviews, decided to have lunch at this restaurant. We had a superb lunch; the dishes were excellent and the quality of the ingredients was top-notch. The welcome was very friendly and pleasant. A very good restaurant; we left very satisfied. Reasonable prices.

02/12/2025: An absolutely perfect stay!
The castle is magnificent, the room spacious and elegant, and every detail exudes charm and serenity. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, a true delight to start the day.
The staff were wonderful from beginning to end: attentive, smiling, and always responsive to our needs.
A truly wonderful discovery that I highly recommend. We will definitely return!
02/12/2025: We stayed at Chateau de Fontager for 4 days. From start to finish we were greeted by friendly staff who were ready to help with everything. Nice rooms, clean and tidy. Lovely breakfast served in the most beautiful surroundings (the Bistro).
We ate at Chant de la Source (the hotel's gourmet restaurant) and WAUW! Absolutely fantastic experience. From the food to the service - thank you for the experience.
We will definitely be back!

The dinner that evening was very good. The service was too slow. The room was very old and showing its age, but it had everything we needed. A good mattress and duvet.

11/02/2026: We ate at this restaurant in February, just the two of us. The welcome was pleasant and the service professional. Like other reviews, it's true that some of the mussels were slightly crunchy, and there were about ten empty mussel shells. This didn't detract from the enjoyment of the dish. The dessert was a very gooey chocolate fondant, delicious with ice cream and whipped cream. The tableware was worn, hence the 3-star rating for the food. The glasses had chips and some limescale stains.

14/08/2024: Een geweldige culinaire ervaring in een prachtige ambience. Vanaf het terras uitzicht op Les Trois Becs. De keuken was verrassend en zeer verfijnd, Ottolenghi-stijl. De chef/eigenaar was erg gastvrij. We sloten de avond af met een goed gesprek met hem en onze favoriete digestief, een Calvados.

Le choix est limité avec la viande.
Comme indiqué par d'autres, temps d'attente long entre les plats.
Et ce qui résume la note : pas de climatisation fin août, clim en panne. Température élevée en salle.
12/08/2024: Et encore médiocre est un peu généreux pour exprimer ce que me suggère notre déjeuner. Il faut tout revoir, la nourriture n'est pas bonne et mal présentée, les plats arrivent dans un ordre aléatoire.
Le service, certes les personnes sont aimables et pleines de bonnes intentions, mais pas du tout pro. Les couverts qui tombent par terre, ainsi que des restes dans les assiettes, les tenues pour le moins négligées, visiblement l'une des personnes qui servaient était aussi en cuisine et portait une chemise blanche, pleine de taches de graisse. Il faudrait faire appel à Echtebest de cauchemar en cuisine pour remettre tout cela d'aplomb. De plus le rapport qualité/prix est très mauvais.
