27/05/2026: We've been eating there almost every week for the past few months, and it's so nice to have a balanced, local, vegetarian meal (and it's enough for the whole day). There's always a good dessert, and the coffee is served with a mix of staff and staff—that's the charm of this place. They also have a pop-up shop (currently featuring jewelry for Mother's Day)!! I highly recommend it.

25/09/2026: I arrived at the beginning of the lunch service and ordered a Daim Caramel McFlurry. Unfortunately, the ice cream was truly disappointing, both visually and in taste. It had a very unusual color and texture, much closer to a popsicle than a normal McFlurry. I went back to the staff to point out the problem. They simply told me it was "perfectly normal." They didn't even offer to remake the ice cream or replace it, which I found particularly disappointing. I regularly order this item at McDonald's, and I've never had ice cream with this color, texture, and taste. As someone who works in the restaurant industry myself, I am extremely disappointed by the staff's behavior and especially by the way my comment was handled. A little more listening and consideration for the customer would have been appreciated.

02/09/2026: Excellent food and service, the pub has a real authentic English vibe to it with the menu drinks and setting. We had fish and chips and a burger both were very nice with big portions for the price. A previous reviewer said the fish and chips had no seasoning, I see it more as a lighter batter and enjoyed it. Only complaint was the portion of tartar sauce was too small. Nice staff and one of the best Guinness I've had in Bordeaux.

03/09/2026: I'm giving this restaurant 5 stars in my memory, but it's not nice to have closed permanently without warning anyone, without a notice on the door or on social media. It's rather disrespectful to the customers who came regularly. La Bastide is in mourning.

26/07/2026: We went to this restaurant as a family this evening to celebrate a birthday. After waiting over an hour for someone to take our order, and then another hour before being served, we waited almost two hours before we could even start eating. We had ordered beef tartare. Leaving aside the taste of the food, there's a lot to say. We found a hair in one of our plates. In another, we had ordered a piece of beef, but the meat served was actually veal. When we pointed this out to the waitress, we were assured it was indeed beef. After checking, it turned out to be veal. The kitchen staff then had the nerve to reply in a very inappropriate tone: "If I tell you it's beef, it's beef." A completely disrespectful response to customers who had remained polite throughout. Sometimes you need to be able to question yourself, Madam. We never attacked you; we simply pointed out that we were served the wrong dish. So we decided to return the dish and leave it at that. When we simply remarked that the service was very slow, we were told, "Yes, but it's 35 degrees Celsius in the kitchen." Yet the restaurant was practically empty. Having worked in the restaurant industry myself, I can assure you that 35 degrees Celsius in a kitchen is perfectly normal. I would even go so far as to say it's rather bearable. You might think I'm exaggerating, but unfortunately, everything I'm saying is true. A little advice for the kitchen staff: accept criticism, especially when it's given politely. Criticism isn't always an attack; it can also lead to improvement. Finally, to top it all off, we had brought our own birthday cake. Despite the appalling service, we were still charged €3 per slice of cake. Unfortunately, we left extremely disappointed. It was, by far, the worst restaurant experience I've ever had in Bordeaux. I will never go back and I absolutely do not recommend it.

13/06/2026: What a pleasure to have this restaurant near a high school and to be able to eat there at any time of day! The atmosphere is more than pleasant and the prices are unbeatable. It's a nice place to take a break between classes and relax over a coffee.

02/04/2026: A café just the way we like them: friendly, great value for money with a homemade daily special. A fantastic team and the owner, Laurent, is lovely! I highly recommend it.

16/07/2026: No power outlets available. Expect noise upstairs. Mosquitoes and midges are also present. (Remember to ask for the code for the downstairs restroom to avoid going upstairs unnecessarily.) A refresh of the playlists would also be appreciated.

15/07/2026: Avoid this restaurant! July 15, 2026 at 8:00 PM I waited over an hour to be served, even though there weren't many customers. The fries arrived cold, and the drink was served without ice. I asked for replacement fries and a new drink, but the staff refused, saying it wasn't possible. No compensation was offered, and no solution was proposed. A very bad experience, both in terms of service and customer service. I do not recommend this restaurant. The worst McDonald's in France, even in Europe, that I've ever seen.

18/09/2026: Terrible service. We asked for the menu to see what items contained gluten, and some weren't listed. When I asked the waitress, she said she didn't know and assumed they didn't—completely uninformed. We ordered three dishes, all "GLUTEN-FREE." When the food arrived, they didn't even have the water we'd ordered 20 minutes earlier. We had to ask for plates to serve ourselves. They brought us the "GLUTEN-FREE" cheese board, as stated on the menu, but (as the waiter confirmed) it came with fried onions that CONTAINED GLUTEN. Furthermore, a glass fell from a table that hadn't been cleared (because they weren't clearing any tables despite not having to do anything). The waiters walked by, kicked the broken glass, and none of them bothered to pick up the shards, which ended up scattered all over the terrace. In the hour and a half we were eating, not one of them even picked up a broom to sweep them up.

15/09/2026: Terrible service — the blonde girl at the bar was rude and kept giving me dirty looks. Even worse: she scooped ice with her bare hands straight from the bottle container, then handled cash with the same hands 🤢 Basic hygiene tools exist for a reason — not using them is pretty gross. Won't be back.

03/08/2026: Great recent find! The mocktails are super good and not too expensive 🍹 +they're delicious! Random info: there are tons of toilet paper rolls! Besides being funny, it's really practical

21/09/2026: The oat milk in my coffee was off and the sandwich was very average. I seemed to be over charged but could not tell as price was not displayed for my sandwich. A bit disappointing given such a high rating.

10/08/2026: I loved having breakfast at this café. I'm from Costa Rica, and for me, this place was amazing. It's very homey, simple, and authentic, almost like eating at home. I mean, if you go there several times, you see the same satisfied faces. It's frequented by locals, workers from the neighborhood. This place is very unique; I'd say it's not touristy, and that's what I liked most. I went about three or four times for breakfast. I highly recommend it. The prices are great. And it's part of the UNESCO or Port de la Lune circuit, a fantastic historical route in Bordeaux, because it's near one of the churches recommended on the route. The egg and ham sandwiches are delicious. And all the yogurts and fruit compotes are extraordinary.

11/07/2026: It's a shame I can't give 0 stars: the staff are extremely unpleasant and unfriendly, they had trouble refunding me because my train was arriving, and they can't even make a single sandwich in 25 minutes. Avoid this place at all costs!

10/07/2026: Avoid at all costs. This restaurant is lucky to be part of the American chain. Without that, it would never survive. The food is rushed, the service is slower than a snail, and the employees only respond to our questions sporadically. 25 minutes for a drink and two ice creams. When we went to ask for a refund, they told us our order had been thrown away because we hadn't picked it up, even though we hadn't moved from the counter! This McDonald's is undoubtedly one of the worst in France!
