The welcome was warm, with a smiling and attentive waitress throughout the meal. The dining room is small and intimate, creating a pleasant and calm atmosphere, free from any hustle and bustle.
As for the food, everything was excellent. The veal onglet was particularly tender and perfectly cooked. The side dishes were also delicious and very well prepared.
The various desserts we chose were a hit with everyone.
A truly great place that I recommend without hesitation!

17/05/2026: We ate at the Auberge de la Tuilerie and had a truly wonderful time.
The restaurant is an authentic French inn with good food and a friendly atmosphere. This combination is what makes it so appealing.
The menu is classic French and pleasantly down-to-earth. The set menu for €42 is, in my opinion, perfectly balanced. The choices include head cheese, salad with smoked duck breast and foie gras, homemade salmon gravlax, or escargots. For main courses, there's onglet (veal or beef), Black Angus steak, veal cordon bleu, or fish in white wine sauce.
We ordered several dishes, and everything was cooked to perfection, well-seasoned, and generously portioned. The steak, the onglet with cream sauce and vegetables, and the crème brûlée for dessert were particularly good. The crème brûlée was exactly as it should be: beautifully caramelized on top, creamy underneath, and not too sweet.

Generously topped, beautifully presented, and just the thing when you're dining with children and don't want to get bogged down in a debate about French classics.
The drinks menu is also refreshingly straightforward: Crémant, Spritz, Mojito, Hugo, Limoncello Spritz, and non-alcoholic options. All affordable and without any unnecessary frills.
In short: Authentic French cuisine, good value for money, and a restaurant where you feel comfortable in a relaxed atmosphere.
Highly recommended. We would definitely come back.

14/05/2026: Our order took forever to arrive... A Royal Deluxe and a cold cheeseburger. An employee in a shirt, who I assumed was a manager, brought our order but then took it back because we weren't happy to pay for cold food served at the table. He went to reheat them... instead of giving us more. He forgot about them and didn't bring them back... so we had to go ask for them again at the counter... everyone had finished eating when my husband was just starting on his burgers... very disappointing
13/05/2026: My daughter was eating her fries, and what do we find at the bottom of the container? A lid from a cream sauce stuck to the bottom.
I went to a member of staff and asked if they cleaned the dishes, showing them the bottom and telling them it was a bit of a hygiene issue.
She looked at me and said, "There's nothing I can do, it's the dishwasher, it happens."

30/12/2025: While passing through the region, we had trouble finding a reasonably priced hotel near Strasbourg (Christmas period).
I chose this one, but I must admit I was very disappointed after paying €240 (in advance) for two nights (without breakfast).
I should mention that the staff were very kind and helpful. The hotel seems old and, in our opinion, desperately needs a renovation.
We arrived at 5 or 6 PM, and the reception desk was closed with a shutter, and the room keys were left on it… Anyone could have entered our room… I was very surprised by this system. The room itself was small but adequate, and the bed was very small but sufficient. The floral bedspread looked dated, as did the mismatched velvet cushions. Hygiene-wise, non-washable velvet cushions have no place on a bed where different people sleep each night… this bothered me greatly… the pillows were thin and uncomfortable. The rooms have no soundproofing: we could hear the dog barking at the other end of the hotel, the construction work, and even the people using the bathroom in the next room… (🫨). The heating is inadequate and it gets cold quickly, especially in December.
For breakfast, we paid €50 for two people for two mornings (€11.50 x 4 + tax). There was little choice, and few, if any, savory options, so we made do with what was on offer.
In short, considering the prices, I think the hotel should be modernized and renovated (while still retaining its typical Alsatian charm).

23/05/2026: A wonderful discovery nestled in the heart of Alsace! We came for the sauerkraut and the tarte flambée, and everything was delicious. The waiter was very pleasant. Don't hesitate to order your all-you-can-eat tarte flambée early, as the wait can be long if it's busy. We'll gladly return if we're ever in the area again. (PS: Bring cash, the card machine can be temperamental!)
23/05/2026: We have been loyal customers for a long time, but our last visit was a huge disappointment.
The quality of both the food and the service has declined significantly. The pot-au-feu salad was mostly raw vegetables, with two tiny pieces of meat, all swimming in oil.
As for the iced coffee… it arrived without ice, which is frankly baffling.
In the end, the only truly unpleasant thing was the bill.
It's a shame, because we used to enjoy this establishment.

After having avoided this restaurant since 2024, I returned today, May 10, 2026.
Excellent welcome, the restaurant was cleaned, the current head waiter was very professional. It's nice to see that this establishment has made the effort to respect its customers by serving a decent meal in good conditions.

Hello - It's been getting worse and worse for the last 5 years.
Today was the last straw: the restaurant hadn't been cleaned, and used napkins were lying under the tables. There was no welcome. The young woman present had an unpleasant, mocking attitude and no self-control. The young man said, "I'm just a waiter?" Flammekueche with practically raw onions.
The foie gras was deconstructed, grainy, and a very small portion for €23.50—that's a first. It's highway robbery.
The other restaurants in the group, notably the Biblenhoff and the Tankstell, respect their customers by serving them professionally with decent portions and a stable, friendly staff. At the Auberge du Ried, the staff changes very frequently; what's the problem?
I sincerely hope that the customers who booked the holiday menus won't regret their choice.

22/05/2026: Upon arrival, the bathroom hadn't been cleaned... Immediate room change! No discount, not even a gesture of goodwill, no complimentary drinks or aperitif! We ordered at the bar, waited patiently because no one was there, and even had to clear our own table while they found a waitress... Furthermore, we had booked two rooms but only one was upgraded, which was nice, but not mine. Two upgrades would have been better than none at all...
19/04/2026: Visited hotel with a tourist group from Slovenia and we were satisfied with everything - rooms are big, modern, clean and cosy, breakfast is very diverse (...it would be nice if they had more of fresh vegetables) and good (loved the bread and cheese selection), parking space was enough for 55 seater. I highly recommend.

01/06/2026: I do not recommend this place. The dance floor was dark, there was no air conditioning, and it was stiflingly hot. And the worst part was yet to come: we ordered four drinks for €19, and at the end, they told us to clear our own table, even though we were the only customers and it's not the customers' responsibility to clear their own. Meanwhile, there were three people behind the bar doing nothing but chatting and laughing. I find this completely unprofessional. It doesn't even deserve one star. We won't be back.
28/05/2026: Avoid at all costs! This establishment is ancient and has clearly never been renovated since its "disco" days.
I don't know where to begin, everything is so bad. The bowling lanes constantly jam and break down, the "billiards area" (as advertised on the website) is tiny, and the atmosphere is icy.
It's hardly any better in the basement. It's dirty, it smells like a toilet, and the laser tag area looks like something you'd find in an urban exploration site.
The King Leo area is also dirty and poorly maintained. With the karaoke area closed, we opted for a tarte flambée. It was awful. Even frozen ones are better. Add to that an authoritarian owner who micromanages her employees and is as unfriendly as a prison guard, plus a strong smell of mustiness, and you have the complete picture. Drive a few more kilometers because this place deserves to be shut down more than your money…
