14/06/2024: Nothing fancy on the menu, just simple food, done well. My wife and i had the fish and chips washed down with a pint of cider. Although busy, they squeezed us in. Highly recommended.

09/06/2024: Visited twice in 4 days and would make the following observations. Staff excellent Pizza absolutely brilliant! Fresh and well presented. Wasn't a massive fan of the Gradvalax one, but that is going to be a matter of personal preference. Draft beers are on the expensive end of the location, with Baya being interesting and Kwak representing best value alcohol for money. I've returned once, will do so again.

15/06/2024: We stayed there for a few nights in May and loved it! The rooms are sparse but the views are fantastic. Even better was the friendly staff and the excellent service and dining experience.

19/05/2024: Who’s home? We came here on a trip to Normandy, hoping for a refuge from the tourist traps along the main harbor drag. Normally, this should help – not at Le Vauban. Lured by the promise of “home made food” we were hopeful and happy to eat – boy were we mistaken… Salmon was ok, but something you can buy at a convenience store served with what appeared to be Wonder bread toast Ham was stiff and seemed from a super market– the week prior One steak was asked to be rare, we got well done I specifically asked for a recommendation between the pepper steak and the local specialty she emphatically recommended the camembert steak – well, never ever order Camembert and steak ANYWHERE no matter what the normandy folks recommend you – but ABASOLTELY avoid it at Le vauban – its exactly as bad as you think it would be. The cheese plate image speaks for itself, you could do better buying some at your local store – we did not eat the cheese. Creme Broulee was serviceable, nothing special Profiterole chocolate was no good and somehow they managed to ruin dessert? If “homemade” means, pick up frozen items and open packages and slap them on a dish – sure, this is homemade. The woman seemed relatively welcoming but the young girl was anything but. Her attention had but one preoccupation, tending to every need, real or imagined, of the young man sitting next to us – literally would walk past us to ask him if he needed anything. His indifference towards was the scant consolidation for suffering through that service… The most unforgivable thing though? Bad bread, in France?? …HOW HOW does one ruin Le Pain quotidien??? The bread was awful. I am allergic to seafood so did not partake, but perhaps that is ok? We cannot speak for that. For or all the food and service? $120+ for 2 to eat the 3 course menu, ‘cheese’ and a soda. Not only will I not return – but I highly suggest you skip this. PS My French friend was mortified from the reactions from the table of Dutch tourists eating across the room. We’d prefer to give 1 star but 0 is impossible and they could have been worse… barely, so,  2 will have to do.

19/05/2024: Restaurant that seems simple and good looking at the homemade menu. But no. Marinière fried mussels with a strong taste of spices... we are told that we are too sensitive to peppers.🤔 I have a doubt... but we say nothing more the boss has a ready answer without the slightest excuse. However, the young waitress is very friendly and very professional. Restaurant not to recommend. Damage.

02/06/2024: The shine of the past is gone. There was an insignificant spaghetti next to the scallops.

02/06/2024: Restaurant recommended by our hotel. As for the cuisine: we are mixed. The fish soup and the Normandy tart are clearly not homemade!! The dishes were good but the accompaniments are child's portions!! Given the price, it's a bit of a hassle to fill your plate while still a little hungry. On the service side: so what can I say. It's May and they're already almost all over the place. The season promises to be very long!! Price-wise: since we're not sure it's homemade and given the quantities... it's excessive. But then the pinnacle is the presence of customer dogs (and no assistance dogs) in the restaurant. A priori it is a new standard. And so we are surrounded by dogs. Including one who eats his kibble on the ground!! We will not keep an unforgettable memory of it.

05/04/2024: Excellent food in a local restaurant, right in the bay near the pier. Great, dear service, incredibly excellent fish. I'm very satisfied and I'd love to come back here again next time

07/03/2024: Good welcome but we asked if there was a children's menu and he told us no but there is what we need. But not at all already very disappointed. I ask for a piece of beef with shallot sauce and I end up with a plate full of sauce, it tastes more like meat. My husband takes some chorizo ​​mussels and he's still looking for where they went. Honestly very disappointed
