29/07/2026: Exceptional, highly inventive cuisine that skillfully reinterprets local produce. The service is impeccable, both discreet and warm. A magical moment amidst the lively atmosphere of the small port.
28/07/2026: Slightly Underwhelming.
Service was slow at the beginning but picked up later on, Food was very good and consistent however wine parings failed to meet the dishes well despite the good story they followed.
Generally a very nice meal however the older bistro style it had will be missed!

10/08/2026: Passing through Île de Ré, we had a wonderful reunion with Maxence. A warm and lively welcome. The food was excellent and very generous. We certainly didn't leave hungry. The service and professionalism were impeccable. A truly great find, we highly recommend it. Sophie and Sébastien.

08/08/2026: Excellent restaurant. I came with my brother and we were very happy. The dishes were delicious and generous. A complimentary amuse-bouche is offered before the meal: a nice touch that makes you want to try the rest.

18/07/2026: A truly excellent meal at Jean Marc's (new name)! Fresh, homemade products! A real treat! And very reasonably priced too. A friendly, quiet atmosphere away from the crowds. Thank you also for your kindness and attentiveness.
30/06/2026: Our third visit over three holidays to ile de re and is a must for us, as it has been the best meal we have had on each trip. Only a short walk from the campsite, so don't miss out on this hidden gem. Quite a small menu with well-cooked home food served with a smile. Check out the opening times, before visiting.

19/08/2026: A warm welcome, even though we only ordered an aperitif and a seafood platter which delighted us with its delicate texture and flavors. A very pleasant break with a view of the harbor.

01/09/2026: A very bad experience. The welcome (apparently from the manager) was extremely unfriendly (a first for me in any restaurant). The food was disastrous (the dishes weren't even finished, which speaks volumes about the lack of quality): in particular, the vegetables were a tasteless, mixed salad, and the meat and fish were cooked poorly. Out of all my numerous restaurant reviews, this is the first time I've given such a low rating, which is a shame (there's a first time for everything).

30/07/2026: We wanted to try out some tarte and went to La Tartentière. The experience exceeded every expectation we had. Not only the tarte was DELICIOUS - we took the one with courgette, smoked salmon and parmesan crumble, but also the service was incredibly kind. We came by bikes and didn't know what would be the best way to transport the tarte back without destroying the overall shape. The cook came to us and started arranging the basket for us so we could put the tarte in and transport it. We forgot to ask for the name of this kind man but he mentioned he was a former scout and hence the resourcefulness. In terms of taste, the best tarte we had really, everything went together so well, you could tell it's natural and fresh ingredients. Whenever we come back to the region, this place is our top #1 to visit again. Thank you so much ❤️

However, the large tarts are only available by order more than 24 hours in advance… 🤔😢 If we can make a small one, I think we can make a large one, come on, a little effort!!

A perfect combination of view and perfect meal
The ingredients are fresh, the menu is enticing
The service is superb, and the welcome is warm too
We highly recommend this place!
Far from the image of the rather overrated port restaurants, we weren't disappointed to have stopped here.
A mix of refined dishes and very reasonable prices: €28 for the set lunch menu (starter + main course)
18/08/2026: A mixed experience, but still positive.
The pros: the sea view and the friendly service.
The cons: the portion sizes (small portions) and the taste of the food, which wasn't amazing (but not bad).
However, the price of the set menu is unbeatable.

16/08/2026: Fast service, lovely and very helpful staff! Moreover, the meal was exceptional, absolutely delicious from start to finish, even the coffee was wonderful. I recommend it 100%, plus the sea view is a real treat.

22/08/2026: We went out to eat with friends, and we had a great time. The generous and excellent dishes and the music playing on the harbor created a wonderful atmosphere. The service was quick despite a grumpy head waiter.

21/08/2026: The food was good, but the pricing was unclear and the server didn't know the prices, which was a shame. However, what bothered me most was when a waitress picked up a piece of a sandwich that had fallen and ate it in front of the other customers.
I find this behavior unacceptable, both in terms of hygiene and professionalism towards customers. Quite disappointed with this experience.
19/08/2026: Excellent bakery and pastry shop, but the legislation regarding the presence of animals is not respected at all in the establishment located in La Flotte.

11/08/2026: Very nice bar... closing a bit early for the summer season, which is a shame!
09/08/2026: The location is ideal for a drink. In the morning, it's perfect for escaping the crowds drawn by the market while still enjoying the harbor setting, and in the evening, the terrace is bathed in sunshine. Service is indeed at the bar, but I don't understand the comments about that; it's the concept, and therefore no one is forced to come for a drink at Le Bariolé, especially since there are other terraces with table service on the harbor. In short, the owner is incredibly pleasant, a good communicator and businesswoman, making it a place where you feel comfortable. New servers arrived this year; they don't have the owner's lively personality, which makes the place a little more impersonal for those of us who have been coming for years, but it's a minor detail. I can confirm that the portions are generous. My only complaint is the very high price of the tapas, which are of McDonald's quality... a place I recommend for a pleasant experience.

01/09/2026: Two glasses of white wine from Île de Ré... 18 euros! The Americans are coming to the island now. Go to the other side, it's much cheaper.
29/08/2026: A great time to end the season, the 4 cheese pizza was excellent, as was the chicken salad.
