He introduced himself in writing as a "business owner," then sent me a photo that must be at least 10 years old and asked for my rates for escort services in Bordeaux.
Being classier and more expensive than the women he usually meets, he didn't even say "thank you" and disappeared without a polite goodbye.
Pathetic!

We weren't disappointed; they were good. Friendly service.

30/05/2026: We came as a family for lunch at Brasserie L'Express. The welcome was friendly and the atmosphere was great. We were served quickly, with smiles and good cheer from the waiters. The dishes were hot, delicious, and cooked to perfection! I will definitely be back.

27/04/2026: They can and should do better. Dishes on the menu were more to our liking. But since we wanted to skip an appetizer, we were relegated to the chef's choice. A bland plate of grilled, pork, chicken and veal. Dessert. ok, but again nothing to write home about.

01/05/2026: We first went to Duguesclin about fifteen years ago; it was a good restaurant, good value for money. About six or seven years ago, we were very disappointed. The quality had dropped significantly: the salmon pasta was far too salty and inedible, and the pasta had a watery tomato sauce that was incredibly bland. That convinced us never to go back. Recently, we decided to give the restaurant another chance, perhaps out of a touch of nostalgia... We received a poor welcome; a smile seemed to be optional, just a curt "I'll be right back." We had time to watch this person walk past us three times without even acknowledging us. We ended up leaving to eat elsewhere. It's such a shame what this restaurant has become.

27/04/2026: I had dinner at Globe on Saturday night. I had the duck breast and it was excellent. I highly recommend this place. The service and food are amazing, and the owner is funny and a great DJ. We had a fantastic evening.

07/04/2026: This establishment deserves a much better rating than its current one!
The service is quick yet attentive, the food is good quality for an extremely reasonable price, its location isn't used as an excuse for price increases (as some nearby establishments do...), and for those with a sweet tooth, the fries are homemade and absolutely delicious.
For two drinks, a fresh steak with fries (children's menu), and a nice cut of meat with fries and salad, the bill came to €33. I sincerely recommend this establishment!
29/03/2026: Opening hours not up to date! We asked for two coffees and were curtly told that they were no longer serving because they were closing in 20 minutes, then left.

14/05/2026: We went in for a cocktail on a rainy early evening on a public holiday. The bar was empty, so the bar man served us quickly. He explained the additional menu that could be found with a QR code. We had 4 cocktails and a wine. The cocktail of the day was terrible, mixed with fizzy water and loads of ice - it may have been better without all the water and ice. The sidecar tasted watery, maybe just not as much cognac used as the version that we are used to. All served with a small bowl of nuts for the table. We were expecting something special because of the reviews, but were disappointed.
13/04/2026: Advertised as open until 1am. Stood here are 23:59 after a half an hour walk. Shame. Please update these to avoid disappointing customers and wasting their time.

17/05/2026: One star because I can't give zero. We arrived 15 minutes before closing time (the terrace was packed with people, and our beers were still full). Our friends were already seated and still had full beers. I politely told them we wouldn't be more than 15 minutes to finish ours, and also so we wouldn't be without a drink while our friends finished theirs. It was no use; they said no, the bar was closed and they weren't serving any more beer.
13/05/2026: The glass and spoon of the requested Perrier with a slice of lemon were dirty!! Will not be repeated.

24/07/2024: Nous avons été attirés par le cadre enchanteur et la proximité de la Charente … jolie terrasse … tout commence bien …
Le serveur charmant nous demande d’éviter une entrée car la cuisine ne va pas suivre … bizarre … on prend le risque (nb une heure et demi après on était sortis )
Les plats sont fades. On fait mieux à la maison … le carbonara : on y a tous les quatre goûté, voici nos commentaires :
Pas bon ! Goutte l’eau ! Et perso j’y trouve un goût de vanille pas bon du tout !!!
La pizza est fade
Le rigatoni devient une simple pâte … sans intérêt
Bref n’y allez pas !
Point positif : le cadre à l’intérieur est très chouette …

29/08/2024: c'était mon restaurant préféré ! Nous sommes allé y diner en famille pour le jour de mon mariage, très mauvais , j ai connu des cantines de routier meilleure et surtout plus sympathique, à part un jeune serveur qui s'est montré aimable avec nous, on a été aussi bien traité que dans une gare de marchandise ! Cela aurait pu passer si la nourriture avait été un minimum convenable, je ne suis vraiment pas une grande cuisinière et ben eux , ils arrivent à cuisiner plus mal que moi !
29/08/2024: We’ve lived in the area for a long time and have been to this restaurant many times with other members of our family.
We always thought it was an ok place for reasonable meal…… nothing amazing but fairly reliable.
On this occasion we were meeting someone else for lunch but we were the first to arrive for the reservation.
We speak pretty good French but still have a bit of a English accent.
The waiter seemed very busy and it took quite a while until we were able to ask for a drink.
As I was driving and had planned on having a glass of wine with my meal I asked first if they had any low or alcoholic beer….unfortunately the verbal abuse that we received from the waiter was discriminating and quite shocking.
He snarled at us and retorted that in the Charente ‘we only drink alcohol ‘ Apparently simply asking if they happened to have a non alcoholic beer was reason to be incredibly rude and patronising to customers who he obviously assumed to be tourists.
We would have left at that point but as I said we were waiting for someone….the setting outside is lovely , the food is fairly average and not particularly good value but worst of all the waiter’s attitude was really quite unpleasant.
