05/05/2026: Good intentions don't always translate into good execution. I could write a long paragraph about this, starting with the language barrier, then the "advanced tour" with 30 seconds of canter and zero trot, which didn't even last two hours instead of the booked three and a half, and finally the fact that we didn't even get the right address because the one in the email, as well as the one online, was wrong. But to put it simply: for locals, it's probably a great experience, but for tourists or anyone who doesn't speak French, it's not. Friendly people and beautiful grounds, but that's about it. All in all, very disappointing and not worth the money.

14/06/2026: A fantastic discovery! The pizzas are simply amazing: a flavorful crust, quality ingredients, and recipes prepared with passion. Special mention also goes to the bull tartare, absolutely exquisite and perfectly seasoned. You immediately feel the soul of this family-run establishment, lovingly managed by three sisters. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and authentic, just like home. The entire team is top-notch: welcoming, smiling, attentive, and always going the extra mile for their customers. A true pleasure to share a meal in a place where good food blends seamlessly with good cheer. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back! 🍕❤️👏

11/04/2026: We didn't eat too badly. However, the portions were very small, the fries were frozen, a real tourist trap.

07/04/2026: A small restaurant we stumbled upon in November 2025, run by a couple and their daughters who help out. It's a shame they were out of mussels in the evening, as we had come specifically for them... But we tried the bull stew (gardiane de taureau) instead: a real treat! The customers were chatting amicably, and there were many regulars who came back every year. A lovely little restaurant. We'll be back this summer with our children to try the fish specialty that some customers had raved about... but this time we'll make a reservation to be sure of getting mussels, or we'll come for lunch. 07/06/2026: A very pleasant surprise on the culinary front. Beautiful and excellent dishes. We opted for the "discovery" menu, and from appetizer to dessert, it was a feast for both the eyes and the palate. The service could have been better, on par with the excellence of the cuisine; it was a bit too casual for my taste, lacking in precision. But in any case, a fine dining experience at this price (€45 per menu) in such a superb setting is unbeatable. Bravo.

11/12/2025: We absolutely loved the hotel, its facilities, and its strategic location, close to most of the beaches. The views from the room window were incredibly peaceful. Ulguike provided excellent service; ask him for recommendations and he'll give you fantastic suggestions. We will definitely return because it's an idyllic getaway for couples.

04/06/2026: After the change of ownership, only the name remains. Unfortunately, it's no longer comparable to the former quality. The beer glass was only three-quarters full, and instead of rosé (as ordered), white wine arrived. The appetizer and main course were served simultaneously. Good question: what do you want to enjoy hot, and what will get cold? The tellines were served in a thick, tasteless flour sauce. No thanks. After more than ten years, we will no longer be guests at Le Chalut and will find another restaurant in beautiful Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer.
