Le Chiquito
Royan
04/06/2026: A truly delightful experience and an excellent meal; no matter the dish, it was a treat. The quality and price are well-deserved because, in addition to the excellent food, there's also the exceptional service, with polite, kind, smiling, and humorous communication. I highly recommend Le Chiquito.
24/05/2026: Incredible in every way, both the service and the food! Very generous portions and top-quality ingredients. I recommend it 100%!

Quai Ouest
Royan
26/09/2026: Choice of various dishes, both meat and fish. Also 4 Choice dishes including a drink for an attractive price. Service is excellent.
26/09/2026: Not good at all. The hamburger arrived cold; I asked for salad but only got fries. The mussels weren't opened and smelled rather suspicious. The Caesar salad was very average.
My 8-year-old son vomited up all the mussels an hour later...
In short, we're not impressed with this restaurant.

Iguana Cafe
Royan
21/08/2026: Arrived at 4 pm, a little earlier than usual.
After ordering a Grimbergen amber ale for €9.80, I asked the waitress for a plate of oysters. She told me the oyster shucker wouldn't arrive for another hour, even though the menu clearly stated continuous service. As a regular customer, I found the waitress rather unfriendly. I had to pay for my order immediately upon receiving it. No special treatment for regulars. Yet, this establishment, ideally located opposite the entrance to the Gironde estuary, offers a magnificent setting.
It's a shame the friendliness and service weren't up to par.
So, I'll go and enjoy some oysters at Viviers Charentais in Saint-Palais, where a dozen is €8 cheaper than here.
16/08/2026: Terrible welcome, the waitress was incredibly unpleasant, no thanks, and a casual, nonchalant attitude. Unacceptable! It's a shame because the setting is lovely.

Le Calumet
Royan
03/10/2026: Excellent food, never disappointed, very friendly staff
27/09/2026: A very negative experience at Le Calumet in Pontaillac. The meat was extremely tough, full of gristle, and frankly inedible. The service was cold, and the staff acted like they were bothering them. An establishment to avoid.
For a starter: 4 whelks and 4 shrimp

A eviter

26/11/2025: A very nice place.
Warm and the food is very, very good.
That said, it's a little spicy.
Perhaps offer pepper on the side.
Otherwise, it's great.
12/11/2025: Excellent restaurant with very good homemade desserts, very welcoming atmosphere.

Bons cocktails.
Je recommande chaleureusement.
