26/08/2026: A delight from amuse-bouche to dessert. Everything is perfectly executed: the cooking, the flavor combinations, and the presentation. The service is attentive and relaxed. A truly wonderful experience that will leave us with lasting memories. It richly deserves its Michelin star.

Served efficiently and warmly in a cozy setting. The tasting menu is a delight for the senses at a very affordable price for a Michelin-starred restaurant. A comprehensive and reasonably priced wine list.

23/08/2026: Okay, first off, don't bother looking for photos, I didn't post any because I just devoured the food without thinking. We had to wait until 1:45 PM to get a table, but it was worth it and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. So we ordered the duck confit (oh my god, the potatoes were amazing!!!) which came with a walnut mustard, oh my god!!!! We also had a porcini mushroom omelet. It sounds simple, but it was truly exceptional. How did they do it??? Apparently, it's a grandmother's recipe. Anyway, for dessert, walnut cake (oh my!) with walnut ice cream, walnut ice cream soufflé, and fromage blanc with homemade jam (hooray for pears!). In short, finally, the long-awaited holiday restaurant.

23/08/2026: We went for lunch on a Sunday in August without a reservation, and they gave us a table without any problem; we just had to walk around until something became available. The food was exquisite, and they adapted the dishes for children. The mushroom omelet was a 10/10, and the duck breast was excellent as well. The terrace is lovely; the grapevine gives it a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

30/08/2026: Excellent restaurant in Brive. The blind tasting menu included an amuse-bouche, two starters, a main course, dessert, and wine pairing: fantastic! (see photos). The service was young and energetic. Good value for money, I think. Very pleasant setting. I highly recommend this restaurant.

14/09/2026: A lovely spot for a simple meal. It's original, very charming, and the service is quick. The menus are good and reasonably priced. A great place to eat.

08/09/2026: Once again, tourist spots are best avoided... burnt crepes served, where is people's conscience, there is no conscience, only money matters!

08/09/2026: Having eaten on the terrace last night as a couple, everything was perfect!!! The waitress was smiling and very kind! We opted for a starter, main course, and dessert; the price was reasonable considering the quality and quantity of the portions. We'll be back! 😄

07/09/2026: Passing through the area. Excellent place, Monday lunchtime, perfect shaded terrace. The dishes are refined, elegant, full of flavor, a delight! The skillful blending of good French dishes with Tahitian notes is truly a superb combination, bravo to the chef!! Thank you to the whole team who were very pleasant and professional. I could have given 6 stars because, as a big bonus, they very kindly accepted our well-behaved dog, which meant we didn't miss out on this superb place 🥰 I recommend it 100%!

25/08/2026: Truly excellent cuisine and beautiful presentation. The ingredients are fresh, seasonal, and carefully selected to create exceptional menus. Of course, a meal for two is relatively expensive, but that's to be expected when dining in a fine-dining restaurant.

12/08/2026: The food was excellent, and the staff was friendly. However, everything was served far too quickly: the aperitif hadn't even been finished before the starter arrived… the last bite of the starter hadn't been swallowed before the main course arrived… Choosing a gourmet restaurant means you want to have a good time, to take the time to appreciate the dishes… Here, everything was rushed through in under an hour and a half. A real shame, because afterwards… on top of everything else… indigestion.

18/06/2026: Family run, rooms are very clean, the way they restored the room is delightful, the fixtures are high end, bed is very comfortable, food and wine excellent, try the local craft beer, lots of parking and the young lady managing everything is passionate and friendly. Good find in an otherwise slightly barren but bucolic area!

04/06/2026: The most helpful and wonderful people we met during our journey in France. Long story short: I injured my leg, and while driving back home, our car broke down near Ussel. As we urgently searched for a place to stay, we ended up at the Grand Hôtel—and it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to us. François helped us with absolutely everything: communicating with the workshop, finding local services, and, most importantly, providing us with a charming and comfortable place to stay. His kindness and support helped us cope with all the unexpected problems that suddenly came our way. The hotel has been beautifully renovated, the rooms are comfortable, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. To my mind this hotel could be a perfect base for exploring the beautiful surrounding region. A million thanks to François and the entire team for their hospitality, professionalism, and genuine care. We will never forget your help during a very difficult moment of our trip. Highly recommended!

24/08/2026: A wonderful experience at the Garden Ice Café in Brive-la-Gaillarde. We were exploring Brive as a family and had started our day quite late. It was very hot, we had walked a lot around the city, and we ended up looking for a place to have lunch rather late, around 2:30 or 3:00 pm. Upon arrival, we received a very warm welcome, despite the late hour. The first thing we particularly appreciated, given the heat outside, was being able to sit inside in a well-air-conditioned room, cool and quiet. At that time of day, it was truly delightful. We were especially fortunate to have Sylvine as our attendant, who was fantastic from beginning to end: very kind, smiling, welcoming, helpful, and truly professional. She took the time to answer all our questions, explain the different options, and let us decide at our leisure, never making us feel rushed because we were arriving late. This was actually one of the things we appreciated most: no pressure, no feeling of being a bother. We were able to settle in, choose our dishes at our own pace, take the time to chat, and enjoy a proper family lunch, even though it was already well into the afternoon. As for the food, we were truly delighted. Some of us ordered the cod with mashed potatoes, which was very good, and we also tried the tuna, offered as the fish of the day, which was also excellent. The dishes were tasty, generous, and exactly what we were looking for after a morning spent exploring the city. We also really enjoyed the homemade lemon-mint iced tea. We were offered several iced teas, and this one was particularly good: very light, refreshing, not too sweet, with a perfect balance of lemon and mint. Given the heat that day, it was incredibly refreshing. And of course, we finished with dessert. The crepes were excellent: we ordered chocolate crepes as well as some simpler sweet crepes. We had also asked for honey and lemon to accompany some of them, and this was brought to us without any problem. A small extra touch that made the dessert even more enjoyable. In the end, we had a very pleasant lunch, relaxed, comfortable, and unhurried. Everything was perfect: a cool dining room despite the intense heat outside, delicious food that we thoroughly enjoyed, good homemade drinks, excellent desserts, and above all, warm and professional service. We have nothing but positive things to say about our experience. A big thank you to Sylvine for her kindness, her smile, her helpfulness, and her professionalism. She greatly contributed to making this lunch so enjoyable. A very good restaurant in the heart of Brive-la-Gaillarde, where we had a wonderful time as a family and which we recommend without hesitation.
