28/01/2026: Turned away from the restaurant; clearly, they don't like dogs here! Not even tiny, very quiet ones. In 50 years, I've never experienced this, especially since you're not a 5-star establishment, just a "chain."

08/12/2025: We came for a company outing, which was very easy to organize. We received a very warm welcome in a pleasant setting, with excellent service and quality products.
We are delighted to have chosen Brasserie des Papillons for this day, made even better by the sunshine and snow.

12/12/2025: A very good, friendly restaurant. I loved the New Year's galette and my husband had the gratinéed galette.

24/02/2026: A very warm welcome, even for a group with children. Plenty of games available. Space at the entrance to remove your snow gear. Spacious dining room. Pleasant service. Good cocktails. The location seems nice, even though we were unlucky with the fog.
However, I was a little disappointed by the Larmont platter: mushroom crust without any bread or croutons, cooked ham that was good, whereas I was expecting roast ham (perhaps I misunderstood the description).
15/02/2026: A very disappointing Valentine's Day meal.
The bread was frozen (white inside), a baguette just like the ones from the supermarket.
Even for a Valentine's Day evening, where you obviously take your time, the service between courses was far too slow. Furthermore, €68 for a meal with tuna, duck, and perfectly cooked eggs, plus maybe four morels, is outrageous. There was no foie gras or scallops, which could explain the price of the menu per person (€68).
And the weak point was the pianist (a very beautiful performance), but playing non-stop for three hours at a loud volume was too much.
Disappointed, especially for such a budget for an evening out, we won't be back.
Thank you to the very professional waitress who did her best.

And let's not even mention the lukewarm wine and the ordeal of asking for a bucket

16/02/2026: The food was very good! However, the service wasn't very pleasant; they were rushed and not smiling. The place was also very noisy.
30/01/2026: We came last night for a drink. There were four of us drinking and two not, and the waitress went to see her boss because it seemed problematic (I don't see why two people wanting to join their friends for a drink would be a problem???). Afterwards, we were told that playing cards was forbidden because it had caused gambling problems in the past, even though we had played cards there before without any issues. The service was also very slow... I am very disappointed and will never set foot in that place again, and I strongly advise against it as well.

Our room door was open when we arrived.
The hygiene was questionable.
And to top it all off, there was no breakfast even though we had paid for it the day before. The restaurant was simply closed.
02/02/2026: This hotel doesn't deserve its 3 stars.
Yellow sheets, leaky toilet, exposed air conditioning unit posing a risk of electrocution, dirty floor.
Smell of cigarettes in the reception area.
The only positive point is its location near shops.
The reception and housekeeping staff are adequate.
The negative point is the deplorable condition of the hotel, which needs to be addressed!

29/09/2024: The steak 🥩 from the children's menu is the same ground steak as in the kids burger so time to have a burger or rather nothing at all since I thought that was the only disappointment with the fact that the games swallow the pieces and does not work but ultimately little surprise of the weekend the steaks made the children sick my son told me that it was juicy and therefore poorly cooked even though on the menu it is stipulated cooked through (normal when using frozen steaks, the meat must be cooked to perfection to avoid this type of mishap)

08/05/2024: Venu à Pontarlier pour la cérémonie du 8 mai, j’ai mangé dans ce restaurant où je me suis régalé.
Le burger au Morbier avec ses frites est excellent et il y a une grande terrasse pour profiter du soleil.
Service parfait et serveuse agréable😉.
À recommander.

11/08/2024: Très bon moment passé au Pourquoi pas. Après une mise en bouche (gaspacho framboise) un poulpe parfait, très tendre et bien grillé pour l'une et une aubergine très originale et succulente pour l'autre. La patronne a accepté de sortir du menu une création fromagère qui n'est pas proposée à la carte : ressemble à un dessert en trompe l'oeil, vraiment excellent (gaufre, feta et tomme, tous de fromageries locales). Très bon accueil, très belles et bonnes assiettes pour un prix juste ; je recommande vivement et nous y retournerons assurément. Ne ratez pas si vous cherchez l'originalité, l'harmonie et la qualité car les produits sont le plus possible en circuit court. En plus, les assiettes sont généreuses. Vivement la prochaine fois !
