22/09/2024: A dear friend of mine had highly recommended Le Bar à Vin. We attempted to go there twice. The first time, we thought they were closed because the corner looked like an entrance, and it was closed. I'd say that I'm not too with it, but the second time we went, the same thing happened to someone else. They really should have a sign pointing to the entrance, which is pretty nondescript. So, we finally make it in and there are two people ahead of us and the venue is not full. It took us over 40 minutes to get seated, by then, the line just continued to grow. There were only two ladies waiting on the entire venue. There was a lady at a counter for shipping wine orders and another man, maybe the manager, walking around from time to time. Without a doubt, they were understaffed, but honestly, if no one is buying or shipping wine and you're the manager, pitch in!! Our waitress was nice enough and shocked when we only stayed for one tasting. Clearly, it's a place where people go to linger, but it definitely, at least that day, is unable to accommodate its clientele. A bid disappointment especially since there are many other such venues to relax and enjoy in Bordeaux!

16/09/2024: We had high hopes for this cheese and wine tasting, especially after queuing for 20 minutes just to get in. The wait gave the impression we were in for something special, but unfortunately, it was quite the opposite. The main seating area looks charming enough, but we were led to what can only be described as a drab, old-school canteen setup. The chairs were incredibly uncomfortable, making it hard to settle in for what should have been a relaxing experience. Things went from bad to worse when we ordered. We were told they had run out of every cheese except goat’s cheese—which was ridiculous, given it was only 6:30pm and, more importantly, we were in France, the home of great cheese! How can a place hosting cheese tastings run out of cheese so early in the evening? To make matters worse, the wine menu didn’t offer any guidance on pairings. While our waitress was friendly and tried her best, it wasn’t enough to salvage the experience. The whole thing felt underwhelming and far from what we’d expected. To top it off, they served nutty bread without checking for allergies, which seemed careless, especially in this day and age. Overall, this tasting was absolutely not worth the visit. Save your time and money for somewhere more deserving.

28/05/2024: Had two really good dinners here. The prix fixe menu was very good value. Enjoyed the fish and the chocolate dessert. Good wine too. Staff very pleasant.

30/08/2024: Nul de chez nul rien dans le buffet d'entrée omelette attendue longtemps comme le reste La chambre propre mais moquette pleine de tâches pense que campanile c'est la ruine c'est fini à fuir

23/08/2024: Aging hotel but very clean. Very very kind and caring staff. Hearty and excellent breakfast 👌. We ate at the restaurant in the evening and it was delicious (fresh salmon tartare and all-you-can-eat buffet) I highly recommend.

14/08/2024: Excellent service, but cleaning is not pleasant. There are cobwebs everywhere, I wondered what the kitchen was like... It took away my hunger. I hope they hire a housekeeper, that would make the place nice.

19/08/2024: We sat down for a coffee. For more than 10 minutes we waited without any waiter looking at us or saying hello. After 15 minutes, we asked a waiter if we could order and he told us to wait for his other colleague. Not a hello, more than 15 minutes of waiting to tell us to wait. So we left. Clearly, nonchalance and antipathy are present at this brewery if there are any fans 😂

30/07/2024: They could really use something to dampen the sound made by the doors. Prepare to be awakened by slamming doors in the hallway in the morning.

25/06/2024: High-end Japanese barbecue, cozy atmosphere, warm welcome. I recommend taking a vegetable supplement per person.

17/09/2024: Lunch break, very nice local cuisine with fresh produce, it’s always a pleasure. Lovely staff. A very good address in Bordeaux. The menu is renewed regularly based on seasonal products.

26/09/2023: It's difficult to be harsh because the servers are friendly...although a little strange! There is no menu because you have the choice between 2 dishes, the portions are not very generous, but it is quite good. The location is pleasant but long live the disorganization of the service team... thank you anyway for the free coffee!

13/09/2024: Une table magnifique où tout était goûteux avec un excellent service! Nos places au bar nous ont permis de voir le synchronisme de la brigade en plus d’échanger avec eux à quelques reprises. Nous avons été chanceux d’obtenir les deux dernières places. Il faut absolument réserver. C’est un resto qui accueille des habitués, toujours un bon signe!

07/09/2024: Stopped for a mid afternoon snack. That quickly turned into two plates of charcuterie and cheeses and three wines. Nice selection of meats, the cheeses were excellent and the waitress was really helpful selecting different wines for us to try. Would recommend.
