30/09/2024: We were served by a redheaded waitress who cleaned the tables backwards. The tables were covered in mites, which can happen. She was offended at having to clean them on the pretext that we had chosen this particular table and that it was under the chestnut trees.
This is part of your responsibilities. We asked you politely, and from the terrace we hear you complaining to your colleagues. Maybe changing careers would be a good idea? Conclusion, unfriendly service, deplorable even!

14/10/2023: The establishment is open contrary to what is written. Good reception, but very expensive compared to the quantity and quality. The taste of the cuisine is drowned in the sauces. Beautiful presentation of the dishes but standard quality. We find better and cheaper.

16/09/2024: Friendly welcome and very good meal. Grilled over a wood fire in the fireplace is very nice and very good. Just a little smoke in the room but not serious.
15/09/2024: I went for dinner after a long day of visiting. The grilled fish was delicious... whole fish, well presented, and perfectly cooked.
The very traditional crème brûlée dessert executed impeccably: thick, velvety, without being cloying. And the staff very friendly.
Super recommended for very well prepared traditional food.

26/01/2025: How can we appreciate what we consume when we feel like we're bothering you, and that you're being educated with unpleasant remarks? The customer does not ask to be king, but such clumsiness reveals the behavior of staff who have taken on a big head, undoubtedly due to...success?
Management should remind servers that customers are human beings, who like a little gentleness and kindness, because they come there to relax and feel good, not to be borderline rushed and have to defend themselves against derogatory remarks (three unacceptable reproaches all at once that's a lot, we are better received at our Kebab, where we feel welcome and pampered like pashas!).
26/01/2025: I haven't eaten here but everything else is magnificent, it's my favorite bar on the right bank, to try it is to adopt it

04/09/2024: I find the negative 1 star comments very very harsh. Came at 3 for lunch in September, the entrecôtes were good, good proportion of fries. The service is fast and the servers are pleasant.
03/09/2024: Too bad because the place is great, tavern decor, spacious, great for groups and children.
Extremely long service, for oysters without the shells inside it's better.. ok it can happen but within 24 what's the matter!
Expensive price for the quality and quantity.
It was an experience to have but too sideways.

Les points négatifs, pas très très chaud, musique un peu élevé.
29/09/2024: Mesas viejas y dejadas sin poner mantel de papel ni nada en la mesa.
Camarero que nos sirvió llevaba el delantal blanco que era más bien negro y al señalar una cosa de la carta vimos que llevaba unas uñas largas y sucias. Imagínense que solo pedimos una tabla de quesos y nos fuimos.

29/11/2024: one of my favorite places in Bordeaux ❤️ here it's simple, no fuss, we eat well, we drink well, all in an authentic and warm setting in a district of Bordeaux still a little preserved from "safe-tourism ", it's discreet, in short it's everything we love ❤️

31/08/2024: Situé en plein centre de Bordeaux, à côté du Grand théâtre,
dans une rue commerçante avec pas mal de restaurants, nous avons découvert le big pour un déjeuner à 4 sur conseil d’une amie bordelaise qui aime beaucoup cette brasserie.
Il y a quelques tables en terrasses où nous avons déjeuné mais la salle a l air très agréable. Notre jeune serveuse était très sympathique et professionnelle. La carte, assez variée pour que chacun trouve son bonheur, est complétée de plats du jour. Nous avons très bien déjeuné. Les entrecôtes étaient de belles tailles et cuites conformément aux demandes. Nous avons demandé à remplacer l accompagnements pommes de terres par des légumes ce qui a été fait avec plaisir. Le tarte était très bien et mon veau également.
Très joli carte des vins avec un beau choix au verre. Le rapport qualité prix est très bien.
