19/02/2024: We were warmly welcomed at the hotel restaurant La Source Bleue, located in a magical location in Haute-Marne, offering a peaceful atmosphere. The Valentine's Day meal was delicious, with a special menu. Although the server seemed a little distant at first, he improved as the evening went on. The large park is home to a clear blue spring, but it is a shame that there is no explanation of its origin. For accommodation, we stayed in Clara House, offering integral space at our disposal. Beautiful walks were to be expected in the establishment's park and surrounding areas.

12/02/2024: After several opinions from my acquaintances, I said to myself that it was time to give my opinion. Maybe late but at least that will be said. It’s a very beautiful place, with a magnificent setting. No doubt about that! I think the managers play a lot on this… The service was very average. We were placed in a room where it was very cold to eat. A couple who had received a gift box for this establishment were also with us. Needless to say, our opinions coincided... There was room in the other room with a fireplace but obviously they have priorities. Like for example leaving room for “outsiders” This may seem like a big deal, you might say, but this idea was reinforced when choosing the dishes. A beef Rossini was offered on the menu. I chose it but was told they were out of stock. So I chose a “standard” beef but it was very good, I was reassured. However, a couple who arrived after us from a foreign origin (English or Dutch) were served 2 beef Rossini… So to summarize, having already visited a number of establishments I can say that: If you do not meet the customer criteria, if you are not an ace-clad foreigner who we want to bring back next season, I do not recommend this place which is also not up to the mark in terms of quality. /price.

25/04/2024: No long wait, tasteless meat, frozen fries still stuck, staff without a sad smile. To flee.

22/04/2024: Very bad food, starting with the appetizer, a sort of quinoa salad with raisins and mayonnaise... As a starter, the chestnut and butternut velouté, uninteresting. As a main course, I had a burger with the vegetable steak (soy). It's a real shame that with all the superb references of plant-based steaks on the market today, Courtepaille is incapable of serving anything but a tasteless soy steak. Also, the sauce in the burger was way too sweet. Finally, the potato: I didn't know you could mess up a baked potato. It tasted like boiled potatoes, but with a very hard crust all around. I came out having eaten almost nothing, with nausea to boot (from disgust). I still gave it 2 stars because I couldn't fault the service, it was fast and the staff were pleasant. In short, I don't recommend it, it's better to go buy something at the Lidl next door.

12/03/2024: The oldest hotel in France!! Very nice place, warm and friendly reception staff. Pleasant environment. Downtown. 👍 Don't hesitate if you are in the area.

05/03/2024: Beautiful large rooms with excellent beds in the historic center of Langres. We come back.

05/10/2023: Vigilance against fraudulent practices I want to share an experience that highlights unscrupulous practices. This past weekend I was unfortunately faced with a situation where the owners of the place were blatantly dishonest. They skillfully hide flaws that remain undetectable, at least until you leave. This discovery, surreal to me, seemed familiar to them, thus highlighting intentional behavior. To detect the damage upon our arrival, we would have had to remove the fitted sheet from the sofa bed which was in the bed position, fold it into the sofa position to realize that it was wobbly in this position. As we are sane human beings, it didn’t cross our minds. We simply left the click-clack as we found it. Which suited the charming owners of the place (irony). What is more disturbing is the absence of an invoice (issued by the equipment supplier, not by the campsite) to justify the replacement amount. This loophole allows them to arbitrarily set the amount of the bill. This further calls into question the transparency and ethics of this transaction. Furthermore, it is regrettable that it is impossible to negotiate with them. The amount they demand is less than the deposit they threaten to take if we do not pay quickly. It’s definitely a well-established practice! However, the setting is pleasant and the "chalets" are pretty decent for a campsite. So, if you decide to venture there, take your camera and inspect every nook and cranny in the hope of foiling the trick... Sincerely, François ROY
