A very pleasant terrace, the tables are clean, the terrace is clean and the toilets are clean. Great for bikers to park in front of the restaurant. I highly recommend.

21/08/2024: Very nice restaurant, with typical mountain decor. Fantastic food!! We had the "chef's" fois gras to share (accompanied by spiced bread and onion jam, a dream!), followed by the duck breast (delicious!), tartare (better than many others) and the vegetable burger (much appreciated from our daughter), all with chips and salad. Delicious desserts (the apricot pastry freshly made by them, melted in your mouth).
Waiting times a little long, but absolutely understandable with a full restaurant!
Excellent value for money.
Highly recommended!!!!

02/04/2024: Had this lunch, spinach lasagna. Generous portion and excellent taste for a reasonable price.
Very warm welcome, extraordinary view! It really makes you want to come back.
28/03/2024: We had lunch in this somewhat isolated restaurant at the top of the Peynier and what a nice surprise!
The food is quality, there were 7 of us and we were all delighted with our dishes.
The staff is super friendly and the place too (the interior is not very big if the weather is bad but there is a nice outdoor terrace)
I recommend this restaurant if you are in Vars because seen from the terrace it is also very nice!

29/08/2024: Small, cozy place that is a must when we visit the resort every year. Summer and winter, the boss is always there! Super friendly, you feel like home. Mountain dishes to enjoy all year round. It’s good, it’s plentiful, we love it!
15/08/2024: A half and half porcini mushroom fondue that rivals the fondues found in Valais! With that, a super smiling team! Quality products! A real good address!

29/08/2024: Very friendly welcome, first discovery of the restaurant and not disappointed. The plates are well stocked, the products are quality, everything is good!
Mention ++ for the BIG profiteroles to share, or not. The choux is super good with chestnut ice cream. It’s not light, but we keep a little space for it!

Hotel-Restaurant Le Chal'heureux

18/08/2024: Having come to stay one night in this establishment, we first appreciated the privileged setting.
We reached the place using our car, even though they offered to pick us up at the station.
Arriving at 3 p.m., this gave us time to go for a walk in the surrounding area. We were able to see marmots everywhere.
The room offered had a beautiful view of the mountains and although simple it was perfect.
Note that I was pleasantly surprised to find at this altitude a bathroom with enough pressure and hot water to take a good shower.
Our meals (dinner and breakfast) were taken on site.
Everything was good and plentiful, for a very reasonable price considering the location and conditions.
Finally, we appreciated the welcome and sympathy of the entire team.
We will return there this winter as a family.
13/08/2024: Unreachable place, very dangerous sloping dirt road, we canceled the reservation but the owners did not agree to do so and we paid the same. Very bad. To be avoided.

28/08/2024: Un très beau resto ! Digne d’un chalet d’altitude! Déco magnifique, dans le jus et moderne ! Un des seuls de la station encore ouvert fin août….
Raclette très bonne et copieuse, mais quand meme assez cher. Cependant les pizzas n’étaient pas top, la sauce tomate pas assez cuite..

24/09/2024: A heavenly place to stop for a break, but be careful, it's better to be prepared, because the service is of the "rough" type, under the background of grumbling between the grandpa who does the service and his wife who cooks and who puts impossible pressure on him, it's laughable and many of us were bursting with laughter on the terrace to see them both grumbling... Still, the porcini mushroom omelettes were excellent and the blueberry tart idem!

15/02/2024: Après avoir eu une super expérience la première fois, je suis revenue pour la saint Valentin et qu’elle bonne idée !!
Super accueil, repas de qualité comme à chaque fois, nous avons mangez une côte de bœufs et c’était vraiment un bon moment, gros plus pour la rose offerte à la fin du repas pour l’occasion.
Encore merci, je reviendrai encore !
10/02/2024: Horrible…une perte de temps et d’argent.. Rien n’était bon… Ni les grillades censément incontournable la viande était entrée de gamme, purée à truffe pleine d’eau, frites congelées horribles.
Heureusement que les jeunes serveurs étaient gentils.
Tout ça pour une addition salée…
Le pire Restaurant du week-end et pourtant le plus recommandé. Il va falloir se remettre en question je pense
