26/06/2025: UPDATE: I tried again at lunchtime with a 1.5-hour break. Despite this extended time, it was still impossible to get served for a main course and dessert. The waiter was alone, and the service was still slow. I specifically asked not to be charged for the desserts, since they weren't served and weren't eaten. The waiter assured me this would be taken into account… only to end up charging me exactly the same price as for a full meal. ➡️ This is therefore a lie, and in my opinion, a dishonest, even abusive, practice. If you consistently apply a set menu, then at least have the honesty to clearly state it—or make sure you can deliver on your promises regarding service. Like many, I don't appreciate being taken for a fool, and I won't make this mistake again. This was the last time. ---- My colleague and I visited this restaurant several times last summer and appreciated the manager's warm welcome, the terrace, and the quality of the food. Unfortunately, our last two visits were much less positive. On both occasions, we were charged for the entire menu when we only ordered the daily special, as we didn't have time for the rest (it's impossible to eat in an hour there). Beyond questioning the legality of this charge, it's simply not good business practice to charge full price to someone who doesn't order the entire menu, especially when it's mainly due to the speed of the service. Given this practice, we probably won't be going back, which is a shame considering our initial positive impression.

11/03/2026: The atmosphere could have been quite nice with friends, except the fish and chips on the menu ruined everything because they weren't up to scratch. The labeling of the origin of ALL the meats isn't immediately obvious to customers. The cooking style is deep-fried, with a characteristic taste, and what's more... they're far too oily—so much for calorie counting! See the latest photos added for the traditional cooking method... Here, it seems profitability takes precedence; no dry-cured ham, just a basic, entry-level ham on the menu, like in a bistro in Saint-Étienne that I know very well... and which gets its cheap pâté-style product from Metro. I often say that a professional's garbage is a good indicator, even if their name isn't Bertrand 😊. Oh, and I almost forgot, the poor-quality fresh cheese called Sarasson is served as an extra charge. Overall, it's poor value for money because even the fries 🍟 in the children's menu, which cost around €10, had a sour taste. We regretted the trip, especially the fuel and the bill 👓. For visitors, the typical viewpoint of the town is from Guizay towards La Ricamarie.

17/02/2026: The price has dropped considerably... A duck breast for €22 is just half a fillet with a rather meager side dish, which is a shame. The servers are still friendly!

19/02/2026: I spent 50 minutes there for an "open mic" supposedly open to all styles. The reality: it was impossible to play music from a USB drive; only regulars with their instruments were allowed. If "open mic" means "reserved for the Sunday crowd," they should just say so. It would save others from wasting their time. Luckily, Hugo found a solution so I could sing. Finally: - A wine glass from a box costs €5 - A particularly condescending regular made a sarcastic comment about the "bad reviews" (referring to the USB drive issue) Advice to the bar's star regulars: when you're worried about negative reviews, start by focusing on hospitality and respect.

13/12/2024: We privatized the top of Alsatian to celebrate our wedding and we were delighted, as were all the guests! The place is friendly and clean, the service was efficient even though there were also customers to serve downstairs, the employees are very pleasant and the food is super good! The manager followed what we asked to the letter and everything went very well. Since then, we have regularly come to eat with friends and it is a place that I highly recommend! Many thanks to you!
