The dishes (Flemish Carbonnade and Maroilles Gratin) were very good, as were the drinks (sparkling rhubarb and apple-strawberry juice), the service was impeccable, the atmosphere very friendly, the welcome warm, and the view incredible 🤩
In other words, I highly recommend this place 😊

We had a terrible dining experience, and for good reason. Following a phone reservation made directly with the manager on June 25th for Monday, July 13th at 12:15 PM, we arrived on time that Monday at the restaurant entrance, delighted with what awaited us after driving 100 km between the two of us. And guess what? Our name wasn't on the reservation... After providing proof of the call, the manager found our reservation for August 13th, a date on which we were not in the area. It was impossible to accommodate us given the poor quality of service at this restaurant... No apology, no empathy, nothing, just "it might be my fault." I find this unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber. There's more to dining than just the food. So, to readers of this review, I urge you to request written confirmation of your reservations. Enjoy your meal!
11/07/2026: A true culinary discovery! The staff is welcoming and the place is authentic. It's refined cuisine paired with excellent wines. Go for it!

17/07/2026: A perfect meal from start to finish.
Scallop casserole: perfectly cooked to a pearly white and a divine sauce.
Very rare steak, cooked to perfection, with delicious fries.
Affogateau: a chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream, all served in a light coffee – excellent!
The service was also perfect. Attentive and available without being intrusive. A very good experience. We will be back.

16/07/2026: A great restaurant to relax in after a hike in the mountains! They offer a wide selection of sweet desserts, the crepes are homemade and absolutely delicious! The waffles are also good!
The vanilla ice cream is excellent!

11/05/2026: A lovely pub with a beautiful setting, both inside and out, and very attractive interior decor. There aren't as many traditional Flemish games available inside as in other pubs. The carbonnade was a bit of a disappointment; it lacked sweetness and was rather bland. The Welsh rarebit, however, was very good. They have a great beer selection!
The service was a little cold and the food was a bit slow to arrive.
01/04/2026: Great atmosphere with lots of regulars. It's warm and welcoming, just like a traditional pub should be.

Very warm welcome, we feel good.
Top children's menu with homemade minced steak and a very generous portion.
Typical Flanders dishes (homemade potj, carbonnades, croquettes, etc.) at the top.
The chef goes into the room to greet customers and collect opinions.
I recommend. Good choice of beers and draft beers in particular (the triple Lefort…um)

14/06/2024: Recommend this restaurant not only for excellent food and great views over France but for the hospitality shown by the owner/chef. His friendly nature and willingness to chat to you after has finished cooking is not to be found in many restaurants. The staff always have a smile and are very helpful even if they struggle to understand our poor French.
We have been going regularly over the years and is one of our highlights to our trips to France. Thank you for welcoming us

06/06/2024: A pleasant waitress welcomed us and asked if we would like to sit inside or out. We chose inside so were directed to a corner table with no view, no panoramique from there!
The table would have benefitted from a good clean but someone had taken the trouble to wedge beer mats under one leg to stop it wobbling.
We both had beers, one of the glasses was chipped in two places on the rim.
Our food was acceptable but very standard fare, fine if just seeking to assuage hunger but not so good if looking for a memorable experience.
