27/06/2026: I'm giving it 4 stars because I don't want to harm the chef... We had three €129 set menus on June 18th for lunch. We enjoyed the meal, but we were served by, among others, a lady and a gentleman of a certain age whom we found rather gloomy, with a mechanical demeanor, no warm interaction with the customer, and not a single smile. The aperitif glass of champagne was served without anything to nibble on with it; I had to ask for something after half an hour, which then took another 20 minutes to arrive.
As an apology, they topped up the glass of champagne we had started drinking while it was still chilled.
In short... how to conclude?... a very cold and soulless atmosphere.

But the hotel was very decent and the rooms were comfortable.

A flawless performance from start to finish, unwavering serenity and professionalism. Total mastery and a delightful outcome… what more can I say except thank you for making our wedding an exceptional event, thank you to the excellent staff and the relaxed atmosphere everyone created. It was perfect. I highly recommend them!

27/06/2026: I discovered this place in May 2025; their dishes were incredibly well-crafted, complete, and generous. This year I'm returning to this town partly for Le Marquis de Royat, which is still just as good. The quality/nutritional balance/price ratio is excellent, with a daily special for under €10.

However, be careful not to eat anything beforehand, because you'll leave feeling very full. Which is a very good thing in itself.

The owner's welcome leaves much to be desired. You quickly get the impression you're bothering him; he's unfriendly and almost seems to ignore you.
The food is okay, but nothing special. I ordered an Auvergne salad that was literally swimming in vinaigrette: a veritable pool. The ingredients were also very roughly chopped, which wasn't very appetizing.
The only real positive is the service: the staff is kind, smiling, and does their best despite everything else.
A disappointing experience that doesn't make me want to return.
01/07/2026: This is my second spa treatment season in Royat. We are two couples. We know the CINTRA spa.
The welcome is always very friendly. Humor and smiles are always present.
The food is good and meets our expectations.
I highly recommend this place.

le service parfait
le menu du jour est à un prix très raisonnable et les plats sont bons: plat du jour + café gourmant+ boisson à 17€90!!
14/07/2024: Brunch surprenant et déroutant: les photos du R montrent un établissement avec un mood élégant, chic et branché, #groupe Partouche... Sur place, un personnel sympathique, proche et familier, un buffet alléchant, varié, copieux et sans doute beaucoup de produits d'assemblage. En conclusion, on a du mal à se situer entre une brasserie de centre ville/cafétéria et un établissement qui se veut prestigieux.
Pour la petite anecdote: le personnel debarasse nos assiettes sans nous demander si on a finit ou vient prendre des nouvelles avec la bouche pleine.
Le rapport qualité/prix n est pas au rendez-vous.
