14/08/2026: We had a fantastic meal here tonight. The chef's signature dish in particular was fantastic, compliments. The service was also very pleasant, especially because they spoke English.

The sublime 8-course tasting menu was a work of art. Incredible flavors, exceptional ingredients, and perfect cooking.
The service was warm and highly professional.
The cuisine was inventive, expertly prepared, and absolutely delicious from start to finish. A true explosion of flavors—we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves 😊

10/08/2026: A very quiet and pleasant hotel, ideal for a stopover in central France. We slept very well, the breakfast was good, and the restaurant was quite decent. Our hosts were charming. In short, we loved it and will gladly return.

We ordered truffades to take away directly online from the inn's website.
The dishes were hot, delicious, and very reasonably priced.
30/08/2026: A lovely evening at the Auberge de la Croix de Fer! The place is magnificent, the welcome warm, the truffade delicious, and the staff very friendly! We'll be back!

14/08/2026: A friendly place. The staff and setting are truly top-notch, a 10/10 for the Guyonnade. A place where time seems to stand still, where you know how to slow down. It's so rare and pleasant.

18/05/2026: The hotel is a bit dated, but well-maintained, and its vintage charm is part of its appeal: you sleep well despite everything.
And of course, a huge thank you to Elisabeth, who is welcoming, helpful, accommodating, and cheerful. What a pleasure to be received in such a setting!

One Sunday evening, a last-minute table for six with children: fantastic meal! Friendly service despite the crowds, and thoughtful touches like a salad bowl to share with the savory crepes, and hot lemon juice served separately with the lemon-butter crepe... everything was excellent and easy to make.
09/08/2026: The galettes were very good and the waiter was very pleasant.

29/08/2026: Really disappointed with the experience.
You can no longer play with coins or tokens, only with bills... it's just not the same charm or atmosphere as hearing the coins drop.
Some machines are in English with no game explanations whatsoever... so we got our €5 bill eaten in one go at the very first machine without understanding a thing! Not a great gaming experience.
And at the bar, both the casino and sports broadcast areas are a spectacle worth experiencing at least once... Completely idle bartenders oozing wit and joie de vivre.

I never win, and yet I leave money!
Oh well, that's life!

09/07/2024: Un des restaurateurs du Glacier nous a aidées mon amie et moi à rentrer en Suisse, tout cela généreusement et gratuitement. Nous l'en remercions vivement. Surtout nous constatons que l'accueil à Châtel Guyon est chaleureux et désintéressé. Nous reviendrons volontiers manger au Glacier l'année prochaine.
10/04/2024: Sans prétention, mais bien servis, nous avons bien mangé. Entrées ,plats, desserts sont bien présentés et le service est rapide et souriant

16/08/2024: Une excellente table nous avons été ravis de ce restaurant. Très bon rapport qualité prix. La truffade une tuerie, les tartes auvergnates succulentes. Personnel très actif et réactif et la responsable de l’établissement d’une grande gentillesse. Ce qui m’a déçue c’est le comportement des clients toujours impatients. À peine commandé ils voudraient être servis. Il faut savoir être patient quand nous mangeons du fait maison et prendre le temps d’apprécier ce genre d’établissement sinon fuyez et allez manger au Fast-food. Un grand merci à toute l’équipe !!!
