I am not from the region and it was my search on the web for a quality restaurant that made me discover and come to dine in this restaurant.
I was lucky to arrive at opening time because there was only one table for two available. FULL restaurant as a result.
Being from Béarn, I will be passing through the region in June... the short one-hour detour via Rosemonde for my destination is obvious!
Don't have any hesitation in going there.
The excellent quality/price ratio of this restaurant will make you come back!!! 😁😋

Let's start with the wonderful concept of being served by people with Down syndrome.
They don't lie and the result is all the more pleasant: the welcome is warm, a real desire to do very well, a real pleasure to serve.
The choice of 3 main courses and 3 deserts meets all desires
The products are of high quality and the cooking is very well done.
Personally I had curried squid with rice vermicelli.
Very well cooked so tender, hearty, and tasty
I highly recommend.
25/03/2024: Great meal this afternoon. The roasted camembert was excellent. My colleagues had the coconut/curry chicken with vermicelli which smelled divine. The creamy with exotic coulis and mangoes, a real delight!!! My colleagues had the trio of desserts which were also very tempting. Impeccable service, from young men with Down syndrome who take the time to explain the menu to us as well as how it works. And finally, the prices are very affordable compared to the quality of the dishes and the service. I would come back here with great pleasure!!!!!

30/03/2024: What a delight ! This evening we had the pleasure of enjoying an exquisite meal for four people. We opted for the daily menus including a starter and a main course. The service was very fast and the welcome warm. I would like to specially mention the young dark-haired man who accompanied us throughout the meal with a very polite smile. It was a real pleasure. 18/01/2024: Very beautiful place, to do however out of season, otherwise it must be hell on this little piece of land, I am not eaten there, but simply the view and especially the tranquility right next to the pier is magical, I advise you to go there during the week during the period of May, June and early September, you will be relaxed, otherwise the interior of the restaurant is sumptuous, it's really old-fashioned, especially when you see the exposed beams , and the old stone floor, the terrace is just as beautiful with the marsh right next to it and the main entrance to the abbey, a must do... Have a good walk...
18/09/2023: A perfect and magical place on the edge of the marshes and next to Maillezais Abbey.
The Échauguette restaurant is truly a quiet place to relax while eating simple dishes with a touch of originality. We had the roasted camemberts with red fruit confit.
The service is also very friendly.
The best thing is to eat on the terrace when the weather is nice.

Overall very good meal.
There were a few of us who took a
Chaplain, (which was just not one) very above.
The portions were really too light, from starter to dessert.
We left a nice note, seeing as there were 12 of us at the table and it's a shame not to have had a small digestive, not very commercial.
