15/12/2025: Passing through in December, we had a lovely walk in Vézelay. We weren't bothered by mass tourism at all, which was perfect. We ate at the only restaurant open, and we weren't disappointed at all. We had veal paupiettes with tagliatelle and an excellent sauce, all homemade. And of course, an equally excellent dessert. The young woman who served us was very friendly and welcoming. The service was very quick. Stop by if you enjoy authentic and wholesome cuisine. Thank you!

06/04/2026: A generous and memorable experience. During our 5.5-hour stay in Vézelay, we had a pleasant time at this inn. The food is generously portioned and offers excellent value for money. Overall TSC = 14 However, a minor drawback regarding the service... The waitress was barely audible, barely exceeding 10 Hz. There's work to be done on punctuation and pronunciation to match the excellent quality of the food. The waitress was friendly enough, but we noticed difficulties with polite language; it was a slippery slope. The main course was excellent, but the portion sizes perfectly reflected the service's timid attitude. The garnishes were stingy, and there was a lack of humility regarding the water carafes. A major issue was the bread: we had to beg, to the point of annoyance, to get just three slices for three people. The staff seemed completely unconcerned. Waitress also distributing the wrong dishes according to the orders, under the pretext that the plates were burning hot, bordering on insolence.

28/04/2026: It has to be said that this picturesque place, Vézelay, is a bit run-down. The state of the streets isn't great! Many of the houses and shops are unoccupied and in a state of disrepair! You can tell you're in the last century, the era of Vidocq or stagecoaches! I visited this little town during a trip to Auxerre, so I stopped in Vézelay, which had been a long-held plan. The basilica was under renovation at the time! I didn't visit the inn, so I can't comment on that.

20/04/2026: I didn't use the hotel's services, just the restaurant. I enjoyed the food (including the vegetarian options), however, two shortcomings in the service at our table concerned me. The staff remained courteous and apologized, but offered no compensation.
