22/03/2026: A wonderful discovery. The staff provided a perfect welcome, a signature of the Negresco. For my first time at La Rotonde, I opted for the scallops accompanied by excellent rosé champagne. The cappuccinos were delicious; I had two, and the tart for dessert was equally good. Of course, I revisited the restaurant afterward, and I absolutely fell in love with Eddy Maniez's octopus dish—a must-try! Next time, I'll come in the evening. May this magnificent place continue forever for the enjoyment of both locals and tourists.

15/02/2026: A very warm welcome, and the Valentine's Day menu was excellent. The staff were incredibly kind in offering a dish adapted for our child; this is a great testament to their professionalism. Thank you to the chefs, the singer, and the servers.

24/03/2026: A very pleasant lunch with attentive service. Large prawns and salmon tartare, well-seasoned with herbs and peppercorns. Crêpes Suzette with a scoop of vanilla ice cream to finish. We will be back.

03/03/2026: It was our last meal in Menton. Food was good. The service was rude. We ordered an entree to share and two mains. We did expect the entree to come first instead of everything coming together on the table.

01/03/2026: Excellent restaurant that came highly recommended. The service was very friendly, cheerful, and attentive. The menu was varied, and the dishes were very well prepared with fresh ingredients (kudos to the chef for the low-sodium cuisine). The prices were very reasonable. We enjoyed lunch on the terrace with our family in the sunshine at the end of February. I highly recommend it.

22/03/2026: The atmosphere was so-so. I was expecting very fresh oysters from abroad, but instead I encountered Korean oyster flavors in France. They were incredibly salty. (I ordered size 2 oysters, but perhaps due to a misunderstanding, size 3 came out... No wonder they were so small... I kept thinking something was off while eating.) Shucking the mussels was pure manual labor... I ate them, but it didn't feel like I had eaten anything.

03/03/2026: Nice, but could be better. I'm taking the time to write a long review because this restaurant has real potential! The Caesar salad, for example, isn't complicated: you need good ingredients. Here, the tomatoes (in winter!!) aren't ripe and are certainly full of pesticides. The salad isn't very flavorful... I know, we'll say that's typical, but it's the main ingredient. The chicken nuggets are well-prepared but there's too much of them, and they don't taste like real chicken (you can tell it's factory-farmed). A good free-range chicken is good, though, and it's better when you know the animal had a decent life. In 2026, we won't care anymore. The Parmesan is the cheapest kind... but good Parmesan is good. That's also what you expect from a Caesar salad. The sauce is okay but lacks anchovies (traditional in this recipe). The croutons taste of nothing but the frying oil they've soaked through. It's a shame because it's immediately obvious that you've chosen to reduce the quality of the ingredients to increase your profit margins, and we don't want to experience that when we go to a restaurant. Yet, the cooking itself is excellent. You should reduce the amount of chicken and Parmesan, remove the fresh tomatoes (perhaps replace them with homemade sun-dried tomatoes when they're out of season), spice up the sauce a bit, and highlight the quality of the ingredients. When we go to a restaurant, even at this price, we want to eat artisanal, handmade food, local and organic products that respect the customer, the kitchen, and the entire production chain. Otherwise, I'll just buy the same salad at Monoprix in a pre-packaged container and serve it on a plate to make it look like I'm at home. ON THE POSITIVE: The wine by the glass was good, the roasted Camembert was good (the bread was a bit too toasty), and the gourmet coffee was good. The service was impeccable and the setting very pleasant (I appreciated the few comic books available). Everything was clean and nicely decorated.
