26/06/2026: There are nights when online reviews can easily lead you to make the wrong choice, and that's exactly what was about to happen with Le Plein Mer. Reading around, we were a little worried about the rumors about long waits, especially since we hadn't been able to book: the restaurant doesn't have a website, and the alternative would have been to contact them via Facebook, but since we don't speak the language, the idea of ​​calling made us quite uneasy. So we decided to give it a try, walking past, with the idea that if there was a long line, we could simply book in person for the next day. But instead, we were completely surprised: the place was completely empty. No one was there, no one waiting. At that point, our doubts were overturned, and I admit we were quite hesitant about whether to sit down or not. The person who convinced us was the young man in the dining room, extremely kind and with truly magnetic eyes. We chose one of the oyster menus, but the inside of the restaurant turned out to be a scorching furnace, forcing us to settle for the tables outside. The oysters arrived and were undoubtedly good and fresh, but unfortunately they were affected by the ambient temperature and were a bit warm, not exactly ideal for seafood. The wine suffered the same fate: a good product, but served decidedly too hot. To finish, we were hoping for a sweet note, but instead we were in for a final disappointment, as they unfortunately don't have dessert on the menu. A somewhat uneven experience, saved in extremis by the raw ingredients and the courtesy of the staff.

24/06/2026: An oasis in Paris. A place where you can eat nothing but oysters, without any pretensions. I've been a couple of times and it's always fantastic. Don't expect luxury or anything fancy, but that's what makes it so pleasant. The best thing to do is sit at one of the outdoor tables if the weather is nice. A dozen oysters costs around €20 (it can vary depending on the size you order). The wine is also good and very reasonably priced. I don't know why the place isn't more crowded. Keep it up!

The dining rooms are large and comfortable, with a lovely old-fashioned decor featuring wooden carvings. The service is very good.

07/06/2026: The food is top quality - seafood and fish are fresh and excellently prepared. The overall service was a hot mess. Our experience was greatly diminished by our waiter, who fawned over the tables around us while completely ignoring service at our table. We waited a long time to place our order, were not given utensils with our starters and we waited over ten minutes to finally get his colleague’s attention to get those, our shellfish entree dishes (with the detritus) were left uncleared for almost half an hour, and our glasses were never refilled. At the price point, this is lamentable service. We finally managed to get our waiter’s colleague to serve us, which salvaged the rest of our dinner. Our group was unfailingly polite and not very demanding, we merely asked for the most basic aspects of service, yet we were treated with contempt by our waiter. Dessirier - at your price point, you really need better staff.

03/07/2026: One of the best seafood restaurants in Paris. A wide selection of dishes, excellent oysters and wines, and, most importantly, a very central location, just steps from Notre Dame and the Île de la Cité. You can enjoy your food while people-watching!
