14/10/2023: After 12 days of hiking on the magnificent Chemin de Saint-Guilhem, what a pleasure to celebrate our last stop in this small, intimate and warm restaurant. A faultless one for Madame in the dining room, for her smile and good humor and congratulations for Monsieur in the kitchen for his inventive and succulent dishes.
An unmissable address in this emblematic village.

12/05/2024: Nous sommes très bien accueilli par tous les serveurs, le cadre est très sympa, le menu unique est très bon, et servi à volonté !!! Je vous recommande cette table 👍👌😉🦋
12/05/2024: Belle terrasse sous un vieux mûrier à feuilles de platane, avec un beau panorama.
Le concept c’est charcuterie à volonté et grillades de viande à volonté (merguez, saucisse, jambon grillé, agneau) + un dessert du jour, le tout pour 24,5€.
Comme tous ce qui est à volonté, tout n’est pas qualitatif et la cuisson du mouton n'était pas suffisante, mais les gros mangeurs apprécieront.
Service sympathique et dynamique
Peut accueillir les groupes.
Avec les boissons, cela fait un peu cher.

01/04/2024: We had 2 buckwheat pancakes for dinner around 7 p.m. The welcome was perfect. The stone and vaulted room is magnificent. We were quickly served with a smile and kindness. The icing on the cake, it was excellent.
01/04/2024: Restaurant where we ate the typical dish Cassolet de canard, it was delicious!!!
Very friendly staff.
Recommended without a doubt.

Musee Village D'antan

21/08/2023: Superb village crossed by streams which can become rivers at the edge of the Hérault gorges. The walk is pleasant in the footsteps of Guilhem, the abbey is magnificent with its cloister, a small free museum allowing you to understand the history of this village. A pretty square with its majestic tree where you can cool off at the fountain and eat in the establishments around the tree and the square. There are many shops, some for arts and crafts or local products, others for tourists.
To access this village we took the parking option with the shuttle which takes us to the village for €6, very practical because there is very little parking in the village, and the parking lot is next to the Pont du Diable beach.
17/08/2023: Excellent experience to live with the owner, craftsman, artist, very kind and passionate. We come back every time we pass through the region. His work is breathtaking! It's definitely a place worth the detour while passing through this charming historic and tourist village.

27/03/2024: The welcome was cold, the service unappreciative (my companion had to cut her own foil with the waitress's scissors), a smile had to be optional that day. I felt like I was disturbing.
The food was good (quail leg) but the plates were not well stocked (around 12 thin slices of zucchini, and 3 small potato balls).
18/03/2024: Very unhappy. yesterday around 11:30 a.m. upon arriving at Saint Guilhem le Désert we stopped at the Aurore table to reserve 3 people. There seems to be a staff problem and we are told ok for 1:15 p.m. When we showed up at 1:15 p.m. we were told that ultimately they would not be able to serve us. Even though I left my cell number. No time to warn us, they tell me. No respect for the customer. We must honor reservations even if the service takes longer due to a staff problem otherwise we do not accept a reservation or we close our establishment altogether. Never seen that.

03/08/2023: Hello, don't expect to see on your plate what is written on the menu. A plate of charcuterie that looked like a vegan assortment and an overcooked filet mignon that left something to be desired both in terms of cooking and quantity. If you would like to taste some gently seasoned sole, don’t hesitate. Positive point for the fries, the fryer seems to be of very good quality. Particularly suited to Saint Guillem du Desert: dry and arid. Surviving in a desert area means above all knowing how to ration yourself.

20/03/2024: We came in summer without an appointment and ate very well, in a great, very relaxing setting.
We spoke with the boss who was very kind and advised us on tourist places to visit
16/01/2024: Disappointing from start to finish.......Starters: dry lamb puff pastry with no taste of honey or orange and vegetarian Tian with waterlogged vegetables......
Dishes titled Rouille: Squid with wine sauce, much too salty.......
Dessert: Crème brûlée with a consistency similar to an omelette?!?! ....
Really not up to the asking price!!!

The 2 ice creams we had were the same
No point in selling Ice like this!!
Try elsewhere, it won't be any worse!

We took rather classic pizzas, what was our surprise to find that they were frozen crap... Moreover, they are completely charred so really difficult to eat. Add to this, a dismal reception by rude and unqualified young people... I do not recommend at all, to avoid!
17/05/2024: I had a pleasant time there, ideal for having a drink on the terrace and eating quietly, fast and efficient service, delicious dishes, I recommend!

10/03/2024: It looked good, but... bring a bell or a little red flag to get you noticed.... And wiggle your arms...
We called the waiter the first time, he replied that he was coming back. Then other customers sat around us, then he came back to take orders from the other customers who arrived after us... and left... not very professional.
Maybe we were invisible??
So we left.
