The butter chicken is undoubtedly one of the best I've ever tasted: the meat is melt-in-your-mouth tender, the sauce is creamy, and the spices are perfectly balanced—neither too mild nor too hot. The cheese naan was generous and golden brown, and the saffron rice completed the dish elegantly. The staff is attentive and offers helpful advice. I highly recommend this place!

01/05/2026: We ordered a chicken curry and a shrimp curry, which were both quite good, but the portions weren't generous, not to mention the rice, which isn't included in the dish. Frankly, €4.50 for a tiny portion of rice is outrageous. Then there's the cheese naan, which isn't really cheese naan at all; it's a kind of Lebanese bread with a little fresh cheese inside and a tiny drizzle of olive oil on top. The staff are certainly lovely, but if an Indian ate there, they'd probably have a stroke.

The spices are perfectly balanced: present, fragrant, but never overpowering. Each dish tells a story—a blend of sweetness, warmth, and character. Special mention goes to the sauces, rich and perfectly balanced, so good you almost want to mop them up with a spoon. The naan was wonderfully soft, ideal for savoring every last bite (and clearly, I didn't leave a single one 😄). The service is attentive without being intrusive, and the ambiance adds that little something extra that makes you want to linger. In short, a truly wonderful discovery: a place where you eat well, but above all, a place you'll gladly return to.

17/05/2026: I highly recommend eating here! We were served by a very friendly gentleman, the atmosphere is super pleasant, and the food is amazing! We also really liked the place, with its lovely lighting and decor. We felt very comfortable. If you're ever in Lyon, you should definitely go!

15/05/2026: Impeccable service. We had the €34 set menu, which was very generous and delicious. We had to take our dessert to go because we were too full. The restaurant is in the heart of Lyon and very clean. The waiter was lovely; we will definitely be back.

The food is absolutely incredible the flavors are rich, authentic, and beautifully balanced, just like you’d find back in India. Every dish feels thoughtfully prepared, and it’s clear that the chefs take real pride in what they serve. If you’re an Indian living in Lyon or simply someone craving genuine Indian cuisine, this place is a must-try. It’s rare to find a restaurant that captures the true essence of Indian cooking so well, and Raj Mahal definitely hits the spot. The service is another big plus.Their hospitality adds so much to the overall experience. Overall, this is easily one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve visited. Highly recommend giving it a try!

I am particularly surprised by the tone adopted in response to customer feedback. It would have been far more professional to acknowledge that an experience can be perceived differently, even without sharing that opinion, rather than immediately responding defensively. If, as you claim, there is no service fee at your establishment, a response aimed at understanding or an internal review would undoubtedly have been more appropriate than implying an inaccuracy on my part, especially several months later. My opinion simply remains an honest reflection of my experience: a dish I found bland, a particularly noisy atmosphere, and a final bill that contributed to my dissatisfaction. The way an establishment responds to criticism often says as much as the experience itself.
