02/04/2024: I cannot give an opinion because my wife and I were evacuated following the flood alert on the Vienne. As a result, I cannot make any comments because upon our arrival the person at reception warned us that she could not accommodate us, despite my reservation having already been paid because she had just received an evacuation notice from the mayor of the common. She took very good care of us by relocating us to another hotel in Chinon despite her distress and without any money on our part, she made arrangements directly with the other hotel. I can only say excellent service... I recommend and hope to be able to return for a stay in this recently renovated hotel.

The waitresses are friendly and the meat is excellent, that's something... We will not come back!

29/08/2023: mixed results for this meal. not only was there a huge lack of things in the kitchen and at the bar (the waitress apologized many times to customers to change their order) but my neighbor (from Reunion) cooks better even though he is not a professional . it's perfectly edible but at this price it's disappointing (70€ for 3 people taking the minimum).

15/10/2023: So, I didn't really believe it but yes: the negative opinions are mostly true. (Sometimes I should read them before going to a restaurant). While walking around the city, we decided to stop at this restaurant. The welcome by the waiter (certainly a seasonal worker) was friendly but he was not allowed to scan our health passes. She was the boss. A hello almost torn out by force, an icy welcome. Later, she scared away customers with her unfriendliness. The waiting time was long. Too long. Especially for what we ate. I had eggs in meurette that were too spicy, the pieces of rillon had no taste, and the wine sauce was bad (water with pieces of Maggie sauce coming off). To have such a good location and to be so disappointing is a real shame.

16/09/2023: Restaurant to avoid for impatient people with healthy taste buds: 2 of us arrived around 8 p.m. After waiting 10 minutes, we took the initiative to ask for a table from the waiter who pointed to a table without even giving us a glance or an ounce of consideration. Once seated we still had to wait a good 10 minutes before having access to the very sparse and very poorly presented menu. This indicates that a menu (starter, main course, dessert) exists, without telling us what it consists of and when we ask the waiter what the starters are he tells us that there are none. As for the dishes (brought about fifty minutes later) their salad, very poorly garnished and not at all seasoned, greatly disappointed me. The pizza dough is not salty and thinner than my Nutella pancake. the deplorable wait still allowed us to interact with the tables next door who were in the same chaotic situation as us (we laughed a lot). Despite this, in our opinion, this restaurant should consider employing more competent, less tired, more friendly staff, or even involving the chef: Philippe Etchebest... An overwhelming experience and above all not renewable.
