11/03/2026: The atmosphere could have been quite nice with friends, except the fish and chips on the menu ruined everything because they weren't up to scratch. The labeling of the origin of ALL the meats isn't immediately obvious to customers. The cooking style is deep-fried, with a characteristic taste, and what's more... they're far too oily—so much for calorie counting!
See the latest photos added for the traditional cooking method... Here, it seems profitability takes precedence; no dry-cured ham, just a basic, entry-level ham on the menu, like in a bistro in Saint-Étienne that I know very well... and which gets its cheap pâté-style product from Metro. I often say that a professional's garbage is a good indicator, even if their name isn't Bertrand 😊.
Oh, and I almost forgot, the poor-quality fresh cheese called Sarasson is served as an extra charge. Overall, it's poor value for money because even the fries 🍟 in the children's menu, which cost around €10, had a sour taste. We regretted the trip, especially the fuel and the bill 👓.
For visitors, the typical viewpoint of the town is from Guizay towards La Ricamarie.

It had been a long time since I'd left my indefinable melancholy here.
Here, you hit rock bottom, and the solid, glassy depths of this pint are also part of it...
It's the kind of small, neighborhood bar, weathered and worn by human wandering, where, over a pint, thoughts drift and project themselves, reminding us that a place is nothing without the imagination we project onto it.
But... The large outdoor terrace is pleasant in summer, where your only natural companion and sole poetic element is a large plant branching out and contorting itself towards some unknown light.
The dartboard on the wall is still there, and you can imagine the darts have taken some rather unpredictable trajectories.
A narrow stage for concerts, a foosball table where balls clatter, a backyard that, following a row of recycling bins, leads you to a nice billiards room.
But ultimately, there's just something missing...

04/04/2026: I used to love eating there, but today I was extremely disappointed by their behavior! I called to make a reservation the day before for 3 adults and 1 child. I specifically asked for 1:30 PM, and the woman on the phone took the reservation.
We arrived at the restaurant at 1:30 PM, ordered our first meal, and ate peacefully. The waitress came to clear the table and told us we could only order one more time; after that, we were done!
So why accept a 1:30 PM reservation if you're just going to kick us out at 2:30 PM? It would have been better to refuse my reservation. I would have gone somewhere else because I spent €98 on a meal that was anything but. You won't be seeing me at your restaurant again.

09/04/2026: In short: a dive bar, a true reflection of Saint-Étienne...
It's not my first time there, and frankly, it's pretty awful. First off, they completely ignore us (a waiter did pay attention to us once, but that must have happened maybe once in nine times), and some of the waiters have no concept of diplomacy. Once you're seated with your beer, you're plunged into a noisy atmosphere polluted by the shouts of teenagers (middle/high schoolers?) who sound incredibly childish... it's like being in a daycare. The icing on the cake: there was a hole in the toilets through which you could see everything, which was covered with a simple poster for about a year.
Why did I give it two stars instead of one? Because the bar is still well-located, there is at least one friendly waiter who knows what he's doing, and the happy hour with €5 pints is a nice bonus.

15/04/2026: I've known Stromboli for about ten years now; the last time I ate there was about ten years ago. My partner and I went back last Saturday, and what a surprise it was! The pizzas are still good, no doubt about it. However, the hygiene is absolutely deplorable. We arrived at 7 pm, practically when the restaurant opened, and the kitchen floor was absolutely disgusting, covered in footprints and food scraps. I went to the restroom after my meal; if I had known, I would have gone earlier. I would have turned right around and wouldn't have even eaten there. The toilets are absolutely filthy; there are patches of mold above the toilet seat. The floor is disgusting. There's a broken hand dryer sitting directly on the floor, which hasn't been cleaned for at least six months. The stone sink might look nice, but it's also moldy, and there are no paper towels or hand dryers. Stromboli has completely lost its reputation; it's become a disaster. I'll never eat there again. I'm still giving it an overall rating of 3 stars because the pizzas are still relatively good, but there's a lot of room for improvement.

05/03/2026: The food was bland and tasteless; the stir-fried noodles weren't even noodles, and the seasoning was nonexistent. Disappointed, disappointed, disappointed.
06/02/2026: The prices are low, but so is the quality. It would be wise to raise the prices but offer meals that live up to the quality. We ordered Cantonese rice and caramel chicken, but the rice consisted of a few peas and ham that barely made a dent, with hardly any omelet. This Cantonese rice was very poor quality and lacked color, resembling plain white rice. As for the caramel chicken, it was quite tasty, but the pieces were cut very small and served in small portions. The food was left in the display case all day, probably since noon, which is problematic for freshness. The service was adequate.

20/04/2026: We should collaborate with students to make the place less "dark." I loved the experience, but I was in good company; it would have been difficult on my own. (Being hit on by drunk old guys doesn't make you feel safe.) I want this place to flourish! I want techno to resonate! We need F2 in Saint-Étienne! Young people need to go and dance there!

05/05/2026: This establishment, I imagine, has a problem with its smoke extraction system. The reception isn't welcoming but is still fairly adequate. The loyalty card only applies to pizzas... which is a shame.
The restrooms are clean, but you have to constantly ask for liquid soap because the dispenser is always empty.
The sandwiches aren't expensive, but the bread is a disgrace, and the kefta is dry and tasteless, only kefta in name.
The tacos are ridiculously small; you order a meal deal, and no one at the table gets the same portion of fries.
Please, gentlemen, get a grip: smile at your customers, include tacos and sandwiches in your loyalty program, invest in a smoke extraction system as soon as possible to avoid poisoning your customers, use quality products (especially bread), serve customers equally, and light up all your dining areas to brighten up your establishment. Change quickly and admit your mistakes instead of responding dismissively to customers who have left comments.
Change because you risk being reported to the health department for your pizza oven, which apparently has a problem, and you also risk losing the few customers you have left. A disappointed customer who nevertheless gave you three chances to prove them wrong by returning despite their initial negative impression.
11/01/2026: I ordered a mich kebab and they gave me a baguette with sauce and kebab meat. It's a rip-off. My friend ordered a taco, and the taco was just a sheet of paper. Don't go there; I advise against it. It's a scam.
