18/03/2026: We arrived at this small café on the Bergues town square on a Sunday afternoon. There were two tables outside, but we decided to sit inside. At the bar, the manager and a waitress greeted us, but neither acknowledged my greeting. I thanked the other customer at the bar who did. We sat down at a small table in front of the bar. There were four people at the bar and a couple eating. The owner never looked at us, not even a glance; we were invisible. The waitress put away the chairs on her terrace but didn't look at us either. We sat for at least 15 minutes. My friend answered a few emails. And then we finally got up. Do you think the owner would have called us over and apologized? Not at all; she acted as if we weren't there. We've discovered a superpower: invisibility! So unless you're curious to see if you have a superpower too, just keep walking. Luckily, there are other cafes in Bergues.

08/03/2026: Very welcoming and crowded, but you can easily find a small table to share with the locals.

08/04/2026: Second visit this Saturday, fantastic welcome, great atmosphere, and the food is delicious! I highly recommend it for a relaxing break, with the added bonus of being in the park, which allows children to enjoy themselves as much as the parents, thanks to the dedicated baby area – it's brilliant! See you very soon!

27/10/2025: We have already come to eat several times and we have never been disappointed. The cuisine is fine and refined, the atmosphere is warm. Go there without hesitation.

10/04/2026: We arrived around 1:30 PM and there was only one customer ahead of us. She was checking her order again; they'd forgotten the mayo. Anyway. We placed our order and went to eat. They'd switched the sauces in our dishes; my partner hates the sauce I ordered, so we had to swap our meals. Also, it says "homemade bread," yeah, maybe it's baked on-site like any other chip shop, but the bread is clearly store-bought. The young servers were getting yelled at in front of the customers; the atmosphere wasn't great. On the other hand, the fries were good and the price was reasonable. Note that they also have a restaurant, and we only tried the outdoor chip shop. After this experience, we won't be trying the restaurant despite the good things we'd heard.
