21/05/2026: We tried the cheese appetizer "Pride of the North." An acquired taste, of course.
We really enjoyed the Flemish-style beef stew in beer sauce and the rabbit and chicken dish.
20/05/2026: We tried this restaurant as it was so close to our hotel. Unlike some reviews we had a good table despite not booking. It was about 7pm on a Tuesday and filled up very quickly. The Magret was delicious, as was the Goats cheese salad. The drink prices are a little high, 15.90€ for 50cl of house wine for example. Good atmosphere and friendly staff when we were there.

05/08/2026: Great, very typical restaurant.
03/08/2026: A very nice setting, a typical estaminet (traditional Flemish pub).
The only thing we could regret was that the dishes weren't brought out at the same time. Some people had almost finished their meals while others were just receiving theirs.
We will return.

The fricadelles and homemade fries were excellent. Ordered for two, served for five.
02/08/2026: The SHAME of Bergues!
Bergues, its history, its ramparts, such a charming and touristy place.
Yet, right in the middle of the square, a blight tarnishes such a beautiful postcard. We ordered chicken with Maroilles cheese, of course! We were looking for some authentic Northern French cuisine... The fries? Frozen!? The Maroilles sauce? Too runny. The chicken? A disaster! We were served a measly piece around a bone, not even the carefully selected chicken breast like all the other restaurants offering this menu. You pull it apart and find blood, a sign of very poor cooking. The waitress, looking embarrassed, confided that the pieces are received like this. We therefore assume very poor quality poultry bought in bulk and cheap. A second plate arrives. No better. We point it out, force ourselves to eat, disappointed. The waitress asks about some kind of compensation. Two coffees, but we don't want them. No discount on the bill. When it came time to pay, we explained our disappointment to the owner. Unpleasant, she pointed out that two plates had been served, and that it cost extra. She was trying to make us feel guilty. She made it clear that she didn't care about people's opinions because her chip shop had been around for 40 years and always had plenty of customers. Of course, since it's the only chip shop in town!
Sad. Avoid at all costs!

11/04/2026: Meal with members of an association; everyone was very satisfied, the food was excellent, and the products were fresh.
Highly recommended.
03/04/2026: 0/5. It's impossible to give a positive review because, despite a reservation for four people made by friends three weeks before Palm Sunday (which had been accepted), these so-called professionals cancelled our reservation the day before. An address we will forget. Disappointing.

11/04/2026: A very good restaurant, the cuisine is varied and delicious, the choice of dishes is quite extensive, and the service is very pleasant. The place is beautiful; it's a renovated old house in Bergues. The only negative point is the noise in the dining rooms, but I think that's due to the layout of the place.

10/07/2026: Originally C de la P was our coffee stop off en route Alsace! Our first visit, a very cold foggy winter Monday morning gave us the chance to enjoy the amazing Bergues Monday market! It was so cold we could have enjoyed the warm ambiance all morning!
What a friendly local bar this is and the coffee is, well, rather good (and the beer too!).
But there’s more! 5 years ago all the friendliness was around a place that was a little ordinary and, well, just local and cozy.
New management (maybe new ownership) has transformed the experience inside and with all the outside tables it’s really the place to be in Bergues - yes, there’s a full menu at Berguenard but C de last P is a super cool little stop off or for a longer stay too - go - enjoy the improved range of snacks and very reasonably priced wines spirits and beers
Originally, the “C de la P” was just a simple coffee stop on the road to Alsace! On our first visit—a frosty, foggy Monday morning in winter—we were lucky enough to enjoy the wonderful Bergues market. It was so cold that we could have happily spent the whole morning soaking up the warm atmosphere!
It's a very friendly bar, popular with locals, where the coffee is—well—pretty good (as is the beer!).
But that's not all! Five years ago, this conviviality was expressed in a rather ordinary setting; it was a warm place, certainly, but typically local and unpretentious.
The new management (or perhaps the new owners) has transformed the interior. With its many tables on the terrace, it has become the place to be in Bergues. While "Berguenard" offers a full menu, "C de la P" remains a great spot, whether for a quick break or to linger longer. Go there to discover the new selection of snacks as well as wines, spirits and beers at very reasonable prices.

26/08/2026: A very pleasant place to stop for a coffee or a refreshing drink. I always enjoy it when I take my mother there; she lives across the street in St. Jean. I haven't had the chance to eat there yet, but I will.

07/07/2026: Tonight we ordered pizzas that were supposed to arrive by 9:45 PM at the latest. When they hadn't arrived by 10:15 PM, we decided to call and went straight to voicemail…
They could have told us they weren't taking any more orders because they were too busy, or at least let us know if they were going to be late with the delivery!
As a result, children who were waiting for their pizzas waited late for nothing… We're still waiting for the pizzas!!!!
I absolutely do not recommend them… Thanks, Pizza City 🤔

18/08/2024: Alors on oublie les petites cacahouètes pour l’apéro qu’on voit sur les photos : dixit « ils n’en servent plus ». Ne cherchez pas non plus un peu de fantaisie dans le choix des crêpes, idem, il n’y en a pas. Maintenant côté plat, nous avons eu droit à deux crêpes sans sel, mais vraiment sans sel, et surtout sans saveur. Bref aucun goût, aucun moelleux et une assiette d’une tristesse infinie ! Verdict : la gentillesse de la serveuse ne rattrape pas la piètre qualité de ce « restaurant » bien loin des fameuses crêpes bretonnes qu’il revendique sur sa devanture ! Franchement, passez votre chemin.
22/06/2024: Un endroit agréable du personnel gentil. Nous sommes venus en famille nous avons apprécié l’entrée, le plat et le dessert. Un moindre coup pas cher du tout très bien servi. Je recommande vivement
