27/02/2026: Good Portuguese food. We went on a Saturday night: festive atmosphere with music. The only downside was very little space for dancing. Tip: when music is planned, make more room for the dance floor so everyone can enjoy it.

We shared a great time with friends, both at the table and on the dance floor, entertained by a singer-songwriter who brought a touch of humor and talent to the evening. A festive and welcoming place, offering excellent value for money.

31/01/2026: This restaurant is like a mirage. Every time I've tried to go, it's closed to the public for a private event. Two weekends in a row. It's a shame; you could have gained regular customers. Post your availability on social media. It would avoid inconvenience and disappointment.

18/02/2026: We came during the spring festival and it's clear that this restaurant is a vital part of the lifeblood of the small village of La Douze! The food is high quality, we thoroughly enjoyed it!

16/02/2026: Arrived at La Douze on a Monday at noon. The first open restaurant I found. A complete meal: soup + charcuterie platter + short rib + profiteroles for dessert for 17 euros—you couldn't ask for better. The meal was very generous and the meat excellent. It's a shame the charcuterie platter only had 10 slices of rosette sausage, fewer slices of salami, but with a little terrine and a small slice of cured ham, it would have been perfect. Given the price, I can't complain. I enjoyed my meal and told everyone I did. Although the person who served me had lost their voice, their friendliness, good humor, and smile made for a very pleasant break. When it came time to pay, I received a second pleasant surprise: a glass of wine and a coffee were offered with the 17-euro menu. I highly recommend this place; I had a wonderful meal in a great atmosphere.

15/02/2026: My partner and I went there and received a very warm welcome. The service was excellent, as was the quality of the food. We ate well and had a lovely time. Thank you! (Starter, main course, dessert + 2 drinks each, very reasonably priced)

15/04/2026: Only one star, and even then, only because it's impossible to give zero! ‼️ I strongly advise against going there. The meats served in the evening are the same as the ones on the lunch menu the next day, the fries served at lunchtime are reheated in the evening, and if you like prison-like service, you've found the right place. The owner and staff don't seem to know the meaning of "Hello" or "Good evening." The warm welcome and friendliness of José and his team, not to mention the quality of the food they used to serve, are long gone.

25/02/2026: I discovered the place when I went to vote at the Consulate. I searched on Google and decided on "La Belote." It was full, but since it was almost closing time, there were tables available. I loved the cod, the dessert, and I'd been missing a good coffee. The waitress is a sweetheart, always available.

10/04/2026: I didn't have lunch there. But you can enjoy a delicious sugarcane juice 🥛, excellent 👍 the staff are super friendly 🥰 thank you team. I'll be back for lunch.

05/04/2026: A very good restaurant with authentic Portuguese dishes, not a huge selection but just the right amount. I loved the "Polvo a Lagareiro" – it was just like back home. The bitoque de porco was excellent.

18/04/2026: It was my first time trying a Portuguese restaurant. I found the meat to be of excellent quality. Really delicious and very well cooked. We loved our meal. The staff was professional and friendly. A truly excellent restaurant; I will definitely be back.

12/04/2026: We've been coming here for several years, and I have to say that the more time we go, the more disappointed we become. The service was rushed; we arrived at 12:30 PM and by 1:15 PM it was over, even though we had ordered an aperitif, starter, main course, dessert, and coffee. They were world champions at speed in freeing up our table. As for the food: the fritters were doughy, the cod Braga was tasteless, and the potato slices, which are normally fried, were soggy and swimming in oil. All this for increasingly high prices. Unfortunately, this is the last straw; we're done, we won't be back.
