20/08/2026: The food was truly awful!!! The plate was served extremely quickly… But it arrived barely lukewarm! Definitely prepared in advance. The meat was full of gristle. The fresh fruit salad in August consisted of apples and two strawberries!!! 🙄 (completely wilted). In short, avoid this place.

16/05/2026: A lovely hotel with charm. The entrance area/lobby is cozy, ideal for relaxing with a drink. The breakfast area and the breakfast itself are good. The rooms are functionally furnished, although the hallway outside is rather dark. Parking is available upon request, just a few minutes away. The reception staff were very friendly.

05/05/2026: Hotel in a quiet city center. The 4-star rating doesn't seem justified to me. Bathroom needs updating, bedding is worn, and breakfast is minimal.

01/10/2026: I was quite disappointed by my experience at this restaurant. The kitchen staff seemed to work tirelessly and with great dedication, but I was particularly uncomfortable seeing the owner speak to them disrespectfully. While the quality of the service or the food may vary, the way employees are treated is also part of the overall customer experience. I hope things can improve in this regard, as those who work in the kitchen also deserve respect and consideration. Thank you for your response. However, it doesn't really address what I observed and reported in my initial message. I want to clarify that I am simply a customer and don't claim to know the internal workings of your establishment. However, I did witness certain situations and I also have concrete information regarding your behavior towards the kitchen staff. These elements raise, in my view, serious questions and may, in particular, give the impression that certain attitudes or behaviors are contributing to pushing members of the kitchen staff toward resignation. I do not claim to know your intentions, and therefore I do not frame this as an accusation, but as an observation based on what I have witnessed and the information available to me. I therefore stand by my opinion, as your response does not appear to address the facts I have personally observed.

14/09/2026: Wir haben zwei Wochen lang Frankreich bereist, aber dieses Essen verdient nicht einmal den Namen „Essen“. Das ist eher Brei. Sea bream in Champagne sauce, hahaha. Dem Küchenchef sollte man sein Diplom durch den Häcksler jagen. The service item is subject to change. If there is another objective Kritiker angemerkt haben, ist das Personal ebenso incompetent wie unprofessional. Wenn Sie gut essen wollen, meiden Sie diesen Ort. ------------------------------ We spent two weeks traveling around France, but this food doesn't even deserve the name "food." It's more like mush. Sea bream with champagne sauce, hahaha. The chef should have his diploma revoked. The vegetables they served certainly looked like they were. As other objective reviewers have noted, the staff is equally incompetent and unprofessional. If you want a good meal, avoid this place.

26/06/2026: We had a lovely time at this brasserie, where the quality-price ratio is very good. Simple and satisfying dishes, served very quickly, and the servers are both efficient and friendly. There's a large outdoor terrace. I recommend it for a good and quick meal.

19/06/2026: A pleasant, refreshing break with a delicious ice cream sundae on the terrace. However, the prices are very high. It's a Carrefour in Chalon, not by the sea.

26/04/2026: We had a wonderful lunch on the terrace. The dishes were generous and flavorful, just the way we like them. The service was perfectly timed. What's more, a singer (not from the restaurant) came to make the moment even better—how lucky! The only surprising downside was the lack of tea that day, which was a real shame, but we'll be back.

29/08/2026: The prawn pasta has always been, and by far is, the best I've ever eaten. The pizzas are also delicious. No complaints about the food, but the staff's friendliness leaves something to be desired. Having been to this restaurant several times, I've never seen a single employee smile.

13/08/2026: I had already tried this establishment at least five years ago, and unfortunately, nothing has changed: it's still just as bad. The quality of the food really leaves much to be desired, and to top it all off, the next day meant a long stay in the bathroom… An experience I definitely don't intend to repeat.

They are true professionals, respectful of authentic cuisine, their customers, and the service staff. At Le Neptune, trust is paramount, and respect is their strength. 16/01/2026: Worst pizza I've ever eaten in my life… I ordered a tomato-based pizza with salmon that they call the Nordic. The salmon tasted like nothing but salmon, the tomato sauce was incredibly acidic, and they added something in the middle of the pizza that looked like crème fraîche—I don't even know what it was. In short, I was very disappointed. The pizza cost €15! I would have gone to the kebab shop near my house; I would have eaten better for less, and at least I would have known what was in my food. I do not recommend this pizza. NEVER AGAIN!!!

26/09/2026: I'd say it was good, but not amazing. Homemade and generous portions, but let's extend the homemade aspect to the fries, otherwise it kind of ruins everything. And as for mille-feuille, for me it's several layers and proper pastry making, not just a puff pastry shell with whipped cream and strawberries. I came for that dessert, but I ended up having the apple tart instead.

22/05/2026: I stumbled upon Ali Baba and the kebab delighted my taste buds. Artisanal veal kebab, undoubtedly the best kebab in Chalon-sur-Saône.

21/08/2026: I got chicken wings to go and ate them at home! They were so, so delicious. The owner said they lived in Korea for 10 years, and their Korean is top-notch :) It says "Temporarily Closed," but the store is open as usual!

08/07/2026: Questionable hygiene. The dirty storefront is a clear indication of the state of the kitchens; the tiles are so filthy you can't even see through them. The restaurant is often deserted. Beware of the misleading average rating, inflated by reviews of the former Indian restaurant whose name they kept, but which was significantly better...

07/09/2026: What can I say except yummy! 🤩🤩🤤 Lots of choices and good portions; a scoop is way bigger than a scoop. I love it, it's been my go-to place for two years.

26/08/2026: We came to this establishment with several children we work with as part of our work with children with special needs. We simply wanted to enjoy a pleasant moment over a crêpe. Unfortunately, we received a very poor welcome. Some of the children's behavior was met with remarks and judgments, accompanied by particularly inappropriate verbal comments. The attitude adopted towards them, especially the persistent and belittling stares, deeply shocked us. We work with children with diverse backgrounds and needs, including a young girl with autism. This requires understanding, kindness, and tolerance, not judgment or humiliating remarks. We understand that a child's behavior can sometimes be surprising or unsettling, but it is entirely possible to manage it with respect and professionalism. Children deserve to be treated with the same consideration as any other customer. This experience has unfortunately left us with a very bitter taste. We hope this institution will become aware of the impact certain words and attitudes can have on children who are already facing difficult situations. Please understand that we are not mothers but professionals, and we were busy working and taking children without families out to eat a crêpe.
