however, the plastic bottle of Evian is not something you do in restaurants...a shame.
31/05/2025: We ate a Chicken Lemon Tagine and a Couscous Fessi (sweet and savory). They were two delights (fine, hearty, and tasty)! A mint tea to finish on a high note. With a kind and attentive owner, the evening was perfect! Thank you

25/09/2024: A big fan of Cheese Cake which is a rare commodity in Chalon, we have finally found or tasted the best!
18/09/2024: Rich choice of teas (and coffees), delicious homemade orange cake and courteous welcome, all in a charming, cozy setting with a soft and jazzy musical atmosphere. This first visit will not be the last... The "44" (Grand'rue) is a beautiful establishment for a gourmet break. I highly recommend. Kind regards.

29/08/2024: The night we spent there was memorable because the fire alarm went off at 2am and woke up the ENTIRE hotel! We weren't afraid because the fire station is located right in front of the hotel! On the other hand, we laughed less when it was triggered a second time at 6 a.m. for a reset...
But the staff is very professional and there is good service, the parking lot is guarded all night and the night porter is very friendly. We were able to put in the fridge what we had in our cooler, just ask!
Following the alarm, our breakfasts were offered to us!!! Nice, right?

08/09/2024: Frankly disappointed. The quality has really declined and the prices are exorbitant compared to what is on the plate. Paying a children's menu 11.90 for frozen fries a slice of herta ham maybe or not with 2 leaves of salad and a pompote it's really exaggerated the same for the canon a mountain of salad without sauce and 3 slices of toast with epoisses 3 thin slices of chorizo and 3 cherry tomatoes. I won't come back and prefer to go a little further. And cleaning the floor and toilets a little more often wouldn't be a luxury....

05/07/2025: Avoid! We should have read the reviews first... but with kids, we did it as quickly as possible. The owners and servers were disrespectful and rude. They even dropped the charcuterie board on the table! Asking for bread? It seems forbidden!
They speak Italian in front of us, so if we're being taken for fools, we don't know. It's a disgrace!! The worst experience of my life!
And yet, I live in the Paris region, but apparently they're nicer!
05/07/2025: The food is pretty good and the waiter is friendly, but the owner is extremely rude and barely answers you when you call out to him. If you don't like people, don't do this job. I won't be coming back.

Pizza de saveur moyenne, café gourmand qui ne mérite pas son qualificatif , le serveur ne connaît pas les notions d'infusion et de tisane.....pour régler on nous demande d'aller chercher la note sur la table , bref grand manque de professionnalisme

06/08/2024: Disappointed, the kitchen staff makes derogatory comments about the dishes that the waitress announces for customers. The waitress indicates to the cook a dish without salad, he returned to the table with salad. The waitress then asks, before her break, for a staff to take the order for the desserts, the order is still waiting for it, we leave. Oh that's for sure, they can't be stupid in the kitchen and listen to orders at the same time...

26/08/2024: More than twenty minutes of waiting to take a drink order at 6 p.m. while the terrace is only half full... Fortunately there are other places in Chalon to have a drink...

Dirty restaurant room (floor, kennels, screws on the ground, screen and baby chair right in the middle of the tables), while there are only 2 customers on a Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
Parquet all warped and rotted.
Chairs to review.
The waitress seems very busy on her phone even though we have been waiting for the menu for a while.
Questionable cleanliness of dishes.
I won't come back again.
27/11/2024: Friendly waiter, good dishes, well-filled cheese naan and tasty cumin rice, however the general state of the restaurant needs to be reviewed, which is a shame

17/08/2024: Old hotel with charm and well located in the center of Chalon but the rooms, service and breakfast are absolutely not 4 stars.
17/08/2024: Smell of damp in the room; ineffective air conditioning which must date from the 1980s; few power outlets; uncomfortable spring bedding; paid parking even though customer service assured me that it was included in the price of the night. Restaurant ; vegetable pasta for 25 euros. Certainly a 4* hotel in the 80s but not anymore these days. Very disappointing stay.

30/08/2024: Hello, at first I was apprehensive when I saw the cheap prices for pizza, good portion, well garnished, 5 euros, sandwiches, for example, kebabs and fries, well garnished, 5 euros too. I came with my wife and children. We ate everything well and fresh you get what you pay for. The staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is quite decorative, therefore 3 stars.
I would highly recommend.
05/06/2024: Questionable hygiene on arrival, 30 minutes of waiting to ultimately find a wire in my food (bad) to be absolutely avoided, dangerous for your health
