07/01/2026: My wife and I stayed one night at the hotel on our way back from our New Year's holiday. The hotel's location is truly excellent in relation to the center of Chalon, and we were able to easily walk around and explore the old town. The hotel's facade is superb, and we received a warm welcome upon our arrival on a Sunday afternoon. The two young women at reception were very pleasant, smiling, and incredibly kind; we appreciated them very much, as we did all the staff. We were shown to room 8 on the first floor, which faces the corner of the building. The corridor leading to the room door was far too dark, and I had trouble figuring out how to use the key card because I couldn't see anything. Once we had light from our phone, we entered the room, which was quite spacious but had a rather old-fashioned look. The room and bathroom were spotless, which was great, and the bedding was in excellent condition; we slept very well. However, if I may make a few comments, the whole place really needs refreshing. The few old pieces of furniture in the bedroom need to be replaced or customized, as does the very dark closet, one of whose doors leads to the bathroom. A coat of light paint to brighten up the room wouldn't hurt. The same goes for the bathroom, which dates back to the 80s with old pink tiles that are chipped in places and a bidet that you wouldn't find anywhere in a 4-star hotel anymore. I did appreciate the separation of the toilet from the bathroom. Positive points: - The hotel's location and facade - The very friendly and helpful staff - The cleanliness of the room - The excellent condition of the bedding - The buffet breakfast Negative points: - The corridor leading to the rooms is too dark - Room 8 is outdated (wall lights, bedside tables, etc. need replacing) - The light switches and electrical outlets (not many) need replacing - The bathroom and toilet need renovating - The bathroom shutters are closed all day for privacy, I suppose, which isn't ideal. This establishment wouldn't take much to become truly exceptional, but it isn't at the moment, hence my rating of 4 instead of 5. We nevertheless enjoyed our stay and would gladly return on our next visit to the city.

25/02/2026: Super friendly team, excellent service! The owners are wonderful. Don't hesitate to come for a meal or just a drink: the atmosphere is very pleasant. A restaurant that really makes you want to come back!

25/02/2026: The food is simply perfect: delicious and simple dishes, made with quality ingredients and very successful flavor combinations. You can feel the care and skill in the kitchen, and each plate is a true pleasure. However, the service could be improved. The staff was pleasant, but a little inattentive. In particular, we weren't offered desserts, which is a shame as it leaves the experience incomplete. A little more attention and follow-up at the table would make the experience truly impeccable. Despite this minor drawback, I highly recommend it for the exceptional quality of the food. 🍽️

16/01/2026: Worst pizza I've ever eaten in my life… I ordered a tomato-based pizza with salmon that they call the Nordic. The salmon tasted like nothing but salmon, the tomato sauce was incredibly acidic, and they added something in the middle of the pizza that looked like crème fraîche—I don't even know what it was. In short, I was very disappointed. The pizza cost €15! I would have gone to the kebab shop near my house; I would have eaten better for less, and at least I would have known what was in my food. I do not recommend this pizza. NEVER AGAIN!!!

22/02/2026: Almost an hour and a half wait for four courses, two of which were daily specials… Nevertheless, the food was very good.

09/11/2025: Unpleasant welcome, the bar was open with people inside having drinks, and we were told it was closed because the owner was choosing their customers. I don't recommend it. And the opening hours this morning confirm it was open. Edit: It was indeed open, and there were customers, not workers, inside this morning.

09/11/2025: Hello, a message to the owner and anyone wishing to have a coffee or other drink on the terrace: At 12:30 PM, the brasserie was open, but one of the employees refused us entry, saying it was closed in a very unpleasant tone. He added that on Sundays it closes at 2:00 PM. So, it's open at 12:30 PM? This employee seems to think he can choose who gets to enjoy the terrace and have a drink, based on who the customer is. Avoid this place, or you'll have to hire staff capable of building a good reputation for your brasserie. Have a good day.

31/01/2026: This establishment was subject to administrative closure due to serious health and safety deficiencies. The business is currently for sale.

13/01/2026: I don't understand how people can give their opinions on an establishment that has been closed for over three and a half months now.

07/02/2026: This was nothing like a real Indian restaurant. There was no flavor whatsoever, the sauces seemed to come from pre-packaged packets, the vegetables looked more like canned couscous than Indian vegetables, the naans weren't cooked properly, and we had to ask for the accompanying sauces that are usually served with the dishes, and even then there were only two instead of the usual three. In short, a restaurant to avoid. We hope we don't wake up sick tomorrow morning!

11/12/2025: A little disappointed… My in-laws were quick to send us a lovely photo of the "gluten-free" banner. Unfortunately, it's not suitable for people with celiac disease, only for those with gluten intolerance. Too bad, my partner was quickly disappointed. We still opted for a small cup of tea, which was quite good, and the lady who served us was pleasant. We had a nice chat. ☕️🍵

30/11/2025: The boss is beyond unpleasant and rude, a disgrace to my heritage. Not a "guongiorno," not a "ciao," not a "grazie"... I suggest you go back to Italy and relearn Italian hospitality and etiquette...

07/12/2025: A McDonald's like nothing I've ever seen. Greasy floors, slow service, and above all, not very safe—it's like you're eating and you're on your guard. While passing by on December 6, 2025, a group of very rowdy young people (about ten) were wandering around the restaurant aisles without a care in the world, without any security guards in sight (it seemed like they were used to acting this way and had developed a sense of impunity). They were running around in all directions, practically touching people's trays and tables, and to top it all off, they ended up setting off the fire alarm while playing cat and mouse with the poor, overwhelmed server. Avoid at all costs!

28/12/2025: We arrived by chance at 2 pm while looking for a place to eat. We received a warm welcome, both us and our White Swiss Shepherd. The daily specials were delicious, and the service was incredibly friendly. Our dog also loved Sissi, the restaurant's lovely schnauzer. Thank you!
