17/02/2026: Always a good choice, and for a long time. We hadn't been there for a while, but with the number of good, classic brasseries in the area dwindling, we were happy to return. The service was very professional and efficient. The French cuisine was delicious. The restaurant has a very friendly atmosphere; you're not necessarily relegated to a corner at a small table if there are only two of you. The fried rib-eye steak was excellent, and the steak tartare was perfectly prepared. The nougat glacé was to die for. Just one small complaint about the Perrier with a slice of lemon; half a thin slice is a bit meager, but unfortunately, this is quite common in many establishments in Bordeaux that are a bit stingy with this citrus fruit. It's a fact, this is grape country, not lemon country.

09/02/2026: Amazing place! Quick service and amazing people working at the place. Stopped in for dinner had a burger and a sandwich so delicious and wish we had more of an empty stomach to fit it all, doggy bag to the rescue. Thank-you to our bartender great energy.

12/02/2026: A very good local spot, with excellent value for money. A delicious main course (perfectly cooked regional meat, homemade fries), a superb dessert, and a wide selection of wines by the glass from some excellent appellations. Quick and very professional service, I highly recommend it!

07/02/2026: The portions were quite generous, the food was well cooked, but the dining room was too noisy; it was impossible to hear each other, stifling, which is a shame.

08/12/2025: It was great coming back to the Golden Apple, an old favourite of mine! I think the first time I went there was in 1992. Love the beers (I’m a big fan of La Canaulaise beers!), great vibes, delicious burgers and really friendly staff. I’ll definitely be visiting again soon.

02/01/2026: Uneven quality of the food... Set menu at €31 (starter/main course/dessert). Pleasant and quick service. Lack of refinement; the texture of the shrimp in the starter and the lack of caramel on the tarte Tatin were disappointing... And, surprisingly, a toothpick (probably used) accompanied us throughout the meal...

26/02/2026: Delicious cocktails that subtly reinterpret classic favorites. Elegant, discreet, yet very friendly service. And genuine culinary and mixological discoveries. Le Point Rouge is definitely a top spot.

19/02/2026: A group of mixed ages we met to watch the rugby. Had phoned to book a table but nothing was reserved...table we got was ok..tapas was excellent. beer and wine fine but was astounded that they did not know what a spritzer was and it was not on the menu!! Staff were pretty disinterested and unenthusiastic but one of our party said usually was not like that. An off day maybe.

18/01/2026: Excellent time there at this famous mussels spot! Mussels were delicious, we all ordered different sauces. Fries were yummy. Only non mussels options are the beef steak or the charcuterie board. Their staff is always friendly and helpful. The manager is even friendlier and make you feel welcome. Couple of wine options, generous pour. Loud environment as you’re within the market, however love this low key ambiance.

04/01/2026: Very disappointed. If you take away the friendly "yay, we're at Les Capucins" vibe, you're left with a waiter who tells you "yeah, the red is good, it's a Côtes du Rhône" when you ask if the Bordeaux is any good, and undercooked mussels with a stingy sauce, cold cream, and cheap, stale bacon bits, even though the menu says you ordered mussels with bacon (oh, and the bacon bits are barely cooked and unpleasant to chew...). In short, okay, we're superficial, we're willing to eat mediocre food as long as we're in a stylish place because we're looking for something symbolic, but there are limits. PS: Oh, and those crooks, when you order a small charcuterie platter, they throw in a slice of bread under the meat to make it look bigger, you know? Like, look how generous the plate is, when in reality there are three slices of cheap rosette sausage and two tiny corniflards. And we can all agree on that, right? ;) PS: And someone needs to tell that little twerp that the most important quality in the dining room isn't smiling at all costs, but empathy, adapting to the customers' emotions, and communicating effectively. Kisses to the cook, he seems like a good guy, sorry Bébou for ordering at 1:30 pm. No sarcasm <3

06/12/2025: It's a basic pub, nothing mind-blowing. 5 euros a pint. If you smoke and sit outside at night be prepared for a constant stream of people asking for money or cigarettes... sometimes quite aggressively.

During our holiday in Lacanau, visiting our children, we had the pleasure of dining at your restaurant several times this week… and what a delight it was each time! Traditional, generous, and delicious cuisine, just the way we like it, with a three-course meal for €17. But beyond the food, it was your kindness, warm welcome, and professionalism that truly touched us. We simply feel at home here. A particularly special memory is the meal on December 23rd, shared with our children and grandchildren when the elf came to the restaurant: a magical moment, the children's eyes sparkled with joy… and ours too! Originally from the North of France, we leave with wonderful memories and a definite desire to return for a future visit. Thank you again for everything, and above all… don't change a thing! 24/10/2025: A very good experience today. We came here somewhat by chance and were a little skeptical after seeing Turkish specialties with picky children. But we were pleasantly surprised. The ravioli were very good and filling. The children loved the kefta. The gentleman is very pleasant.

05/01/2026: Spectacular sunsets overlooking the highest sand dune in Europe. No need to book for sunset drinks. Reservations required for dinner.
